Rock chip w/ small rust spot

Hey guys, I found a small rock chip on the roof of my car. All the way through the paint. I know the only real solution is to get it reprinted.

 

My question is, in the meantime what if I sprayed a little DWC to remove the rust and then seal it and wax over it. Would that prevent it from getting worse until I get to a body shop?

I'd rather see you sand it, prime it, and paint it. I'd be worried about the DWC getting under the paint.

Yes, you may want to look in the Langka stuff that others have mentioned to paint the rock chip. The Langka will make the chip blend better or if your confident in your skills you can just touch up the paint after removing rust with this tool. This tool will do a fantastic job of removing your rust from the inside the rock chip. I use these to touch up my paint as opposed to the big brush in the bottle, on the cap end.

Just listed the above link to show that you can get just the blob remover as well as opposed to the whole kit. You may have to read and make that decision yourself.

I've used Langka as well and had good results.

If you get it all out. The key is making sure you get it all out. That pen that I referenced earlier does an excellent job of just that. If it is really that bad, I would also pick up some primer (body shop supply, not Home Depot Rustoleum) and spray some in the lid or a like container and use one of those daubers that I referenced and dab some of that on there as well.
