Deep wheel cleaner on motorcycle engine?

Planning on taking the harley out today, as the weather is supposed to be nice here in ohio. Only problem riding it during the winter months, it still gets road salt all over and mandatory that I wash it after a ride. Curious if deep wheel cleaner would be a good choice on the black powder coat engine to dissolve salt and engine grime.

Is the powder coat matte or gloss? Personally I use APC on motorcycle engines, has worked for me in the past. I don't see the benefit of wheel cleaner on engines, mostly because it is made to break up iron deposits. It could be worth a shot though. Just don't let it dry.

Matte black powder coat, haven't tried apc yet. Will give that a shot first

I use APC on my Road Glide engine also, very happy. If the cases are the wrinkle black use some In&Out to make them look brand new. If they're satin black try in an inconspicuous place first as it will add some gloss. Just had my bike at teh dealer and they were really impressed with how clean it is.
