Well After 6.5 hours of Polishing My Wheels....

bigred vette

Question

The wheels on this car were disgusting to say the least... the fronts looked awesome because i always kept up with them but i was never able to reach all the way in the back, so they never got cleaned.:(

Soo me and my dad bought a bunch of stuff to jack the car up right and get the wheels off.

these pictures might not be in order because there are so many but im going to try and group them in "before" "during" and "after".. I know how much every one likes pics so i try and take as much as possible.

ON TO THE PICS!!!

BEFORE:

Spraying it down with APC and scrubbing it with a sponge, the APC suds pretty good i think.

DURING:

Wow, nice job. It was surprising just the difference after the APC alone.

Those are also some super clean brake rotors.

I took a bunch of time once to get mine all cleaned up in the "vanes" area and spray them with high temp BBQ grill paint, but still after the last track I just dont' think there is anything that will take the heat when you are puttin the hurtin to em and they are back to their kind of rusty appearance.

Nice job Brian:thumbsup: Polished aluminium wheels are hard to beat when shined to a mirror like finish:drool:

Gotta love the APC, that stuff works good to get off the brake dust and road grime, I just got some used CCW wheels, and the barrels were pretty nasty and the APC cleaned them up pretty good.

There was someone on another forum that put some sort of clear epoxy o something on the inside of his wheels that I though about, I'll see if I can get a link, and I'm going with ceramic brakes pad too!!

Thanks Ted!! I thought about doing something like that but I just decided on use MSW as my sealent. And yea the APC does a great job for getting most of the dust and grime off.

Thanks Keith! The APC alone did do a great job on getting the wheels ready for polish....I've never cleaned our brakes, I guess the pics make them look better then what they actually are.
