Wheel and Tire Cleaner

lgelliott

Question

I have a new truck with black gloss wheels. I am wanting to maintain and keep tires and wheels clean from brake dust, etc, prior to applying tire dressings. I have waxed the wheels and I am wondering if the wheel and tire cleaner is too harsh of chemicals for the wheels since they have been waxed/polished in past. Do I need to switch out the wheel and tire cleaner or just use shampoo on wheels and I could use it for the tires? Any help is recommended. Thanks!

Here's a good article on how to properly care for your wheels and tires. I have a feeling the W&TC will remove the wax, it's a strong, alkaline cleaner. I'd consider using something longer lasting, up to Graphene Ceramic Coating.
