old nasty dried up tree sap

So I got a call from my body guy today says a friend of his needs help with getting some nasty old dried up tree sap off of a car. The guy has tried the goo gone and also goof off I was gonna tell him try some clay bar but he may need a more powerful version then you get from adams or from the auto stores. So does anyone have any suggestions or comments on this please let me know thanks.

Use Vinegar for Tree sap

Try using some apc just dont leave it on for long.

I use 3M adhesive cleaner to remove tree sap and redo the area with SHR and re wax.
