Millenium Yellow Z06

This car has been scheduled 5 times and the owner has canceled on me 4 times. Finally i get to clean it up. I didn't even charge him that much. I just wanted it done and looking like it should.

I started Friday evening after work with it being a warm 106 degrees out. I fugure I'd get the interior done real quick then washed and clayed and finish it up in the morning. Not the case, 4 or so hours later I was finishing up and I had about 30 minutes til the sun went down.

The interior was in rough shape. A lot of dust and debris everywhere. The owner is a barber so I wondered if it was pet hair or human hair.

For the interior I used Leather and Interior Cleaner and with the Interior Brush and Utility Microfiber Towels. Also the detailing swabs came in handy for all the hard to reach spots. The Leather Soaked up the Leather Conditioner like crazy. Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner and Carpet Brush was used to bring the carpet back to life

All the trash that came from blowing under the seat with the metro blaster sidekick. I think I added 5hp by removing it all.

There was something growing on this steering wheel.

On to the engine bay. It was typical, dry, dull and dusty. The plastic engine cowl was gray and needed some attention.

This step was done after dark so a utility light was used. I drenched the engine bay with APC and let it dwell for a minute. Scrubbed her down with the Boars Hair Brush and Lug and Trim Brush and rinsed.

Afterwards I blew all the water out the handy Metro Blaster Sidekick and treated with Super VRT and In and Out Spray.

For the wheels I used Deep Wheel Cleaner in combination with a medium Wheel Woolie, Boars Hair Brush and Lug and Trim Brush. These have never seen a proper cleaning.

6:30 am and I had a local business drop off their work truck for a quick wash and Super VRT application for the car show that day.

Finally to the main event. By this point I was tired and in a rush to get the Vette done and gone before the show started at 6pm.

All polishing was done with the Flex using Microfiber Pads. The combo of Microfiber and the new PCP and PFP made short work for this Vette's tough to crack clear coat. It cut through the swirls quickly and finished nicely. 2 passes with PCP and 1 pass PFP. The lack of picture taking skills and yellow paint was making things tough to grab good 50/50 shots.

Here are the finished shots. My plans are to pick up one of those "fancy" camera's soon with the baby coming next month. At least that's what I told the wife we needed it for.

The street was full of cars so after shots were hard to get.

Here's an early shot at the show. Across the way is the Barber's other Vette. His red 73 Stingray is the one he actually takes care of.

By the way, since this is a daily driver and spends 9 hours a day 5 days a week outside we went with AQS for protection. Followed by the trusty BG and APW Combo. This guy is going to be amazed when compared to the spray wax he's been using.

Thanks, the owner is coming around to my way of doing things. He is up there in age and isnt physically able to take care of them the way he wants to.
