Engine cleaning

I recently had my 2014 Camaro 2ss fully detailed. I was a little concerned because they used a foam gun to clean my engine. I’m not sure if I’m just being paranoid, but the car doesn’t feel the same. So .......is it safe to use a foam gun to clean an engine? Thanks!

Shouldn't have hurt anything, I've done it plenty of times.

Do you mean foam gun or canon? Menaing, hose or pressure washer used? Most engines today are well sealed and can withstand a cleaning, but do you have any open air filters, after-market parts, etc?

On my ZL1 I just used In and Out spray and worked pretty good, but used the hose once or twice.

On my daughter's 2012 Camaro I clean the engine/engine bay every spring. I remove the plastic engine cover, cover, or remove the open air filter, and don't deliberately spray water directly onto the alternator. I've used the foam cannon attached to my pressure washer, my pressure washer with the 60* end, regular old water hose and the IK 1.5 foaming sprayer. No problems.
