Staining on tires

Nick 2

Question

I've been using both Tire and Rubber Cleaner and Wheel Cleaner on my tires for almost a year now.  I have been noticing a consistent staining on the tires where the water runs off after cleaning them.  I have not been able to get it off completely, even after dressing or shine.

Here is my exact process.

Wet complete wheel and tire

1-3 applications and scrubbing of Tire and Rubber Cleaner (or until white foam. rinsing in-between and one final deluge)

Wheel Cleaner on wheel, brakes, and barrel of wheel.

Scrub the barrel, wheel, brakes and lugs (rinse thoroughly)

As the water starts to dry, I notice the stains that seem to be from one of the chemicals running off the tire.

All chemicals are only left on the tire for about a minute.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First, welcome! Be sure to post an intro in the new member forum to introduce yourself and tell us what you're keeping shiny.

To your question...any pics? My initial reaction is to switch the TRC and WC steps...so WC first, rinse, then TRC. The latter shouldn't stain your tires, but the WC or residue might. Have you tried Eco APC to remove the stains in the meantime?

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac

Hit one tire with TRC and another with Eco APC.

The one with TRC came cleaner than the one I used APC on.

So maybe a few more scrubs will remove it all.
