  1. Love it! Now I know what my paint is going to look like on my Tuxedo Black Raptor!
  2. I use a dirty towel with a little water on it to wipe off all the debris.
  3. Awesome news! That will definitely save me some time with this detail! Also, I left out a step during my decontamination process. I'll be using "Brand-X" to remove iron/rail dust. I purchased this before I knew that Adam's Deep Wheel Cleaner did the same thing. That should aid in post-clay bar clean-up. I plan to do one panel at a time. And luckily, I'll be working under a carport; so no worries about direct sunlight.
  4. I put this in this sub-section because my big issue is more about the clay than the polish. I've had this question for awhile and I've watched the Adam's videos and I'm still confused. After claying my vehicle and wiping away the clay residue, do I need to rinse or wash the vehicle again? Or is wiping away the residue enough before I polish? What about after I polish? Is wiping away the residue enough or do I need to rinse or wash before going on to my sealant? All towels will be Adam's Microfiber - Great white and single soft for drying (big truck is hard to dry), single soft for clay/polish/sealant and double soft for glaze/wax. Method for this upcoming detail will be: Strip Wash - 2 bucket w/ Shampoo and APC New Clay Bar and Detail Spray Revive Hand Polish Quick Sealant Brilliant Glaze Buttery Wax SVRT to plastic/rubber/trim (after using APC) Thanks for your help. This is my first time really getting into detailing with my brand new truck. Hard to believe I'm this enthused about protecting paint on my off-road truck haha.
  5. My old truck got egged back in high school and it actually removed the paint from the truck because of how sharp the egg shells were. This was on a Nissan Titan; and to my knowledge, Nissans are not known for their paint quality.
  6. Thanks, fellas. You guessed it Jeff, I'm here in Houston. And I can't wait until the Glaze and Buttery go on the truck; the gold/orange flake is going to just POP!
  7. Hey guys, just thought I'd drop in here and say a few words. I'm finally starting to get detailing...more than just shopping for stuff at O'Reilly's from now on. Did a lot of research on FordRaptorForum.com and finally decided to buy the Essentials Kit, Quick Sealant, Extra Bucket with Grit Guard, and some extra single soft towels. The weather here has been raining ever since my products came in (of course), but I'm hoping that I'll be able to finally do my detail next weekend and test out the new Claybar. Anyway, my current vehicle is my brand new 2013 Ford Raptor. Tuxedo Black Metallic with all the bells and whistles. I specifically had my dealer not wash it and I finally got to give her a bath the other day. Just a simple 2-bucket wash and Quick Detailer. The shine is insane. This truck currently has no wax or anything on it and the metal flake is so visible and bright that it almost makes the truck look dirty for a split second. That said, I'm super please and can't wait until I can really spend some quality time with this truck and do a Clay, Polish, Seal, Glaze, and Wax on it and really get it protected because I definitely plan to do some wheeling with her! Looking forward to being a member here and learning some tips from the pros. Pictures of the truck to follow. Nick
