  1. Been working on the car almost daily after work. Almost finished and the car looks absolutely insane! Just when I think I got the car to a point where it looked as good as it was going to get, I go and do something like this and really bring out the shine! Pics to follow soon!
  2. I like to do one area at a time as well. Do an area and then wipe it off with a doublesoft. You get to see the results and determine if you need to hit the area again to get it to the point you would like it to be. The longer you let it sit, the harder it becomes to remove.
  3. As others have said already try the clay and that should take care of your issue. Follow up with glass sealer and clean/wipe down with glass cleaner. Should look fantastic when done.
  4. The clay I have used (gone through 3 orders worth) has been really great to work with. If it starts to look like what you posted, which it may, I usually just fold it and flatten it again, lube it up and you should be ready to go. Stuff works great. I think it is a great product and has just the right amount of stickiness to get the job done right.
  5. Get use to it. That's what Adams is all about. Great people to work with for sure.
  6. I wish it was a GNX. Its just a plain jane 87 Buick Grand National with 15K miles on the clock. You graduated a few years before me ( I graduated in 93),but the Buick GN's were still the car to have when I was in high school. I had an 87 IROC-Z (still have it) in high school. That was my first car and one of my buddys had an 87 Turbo T. That thing used to be the quickest car around. Stupid thing couldn't be beat, especially by my "Tuned Port" 305. Always wanted one in high school, but it was never in the cards. I looked for nearly 20 years to find a nice one and mine is near perfect (thus the reason for the post). Just looking to keep the paint as nice and as near perfect as I can. On a side note, the original bumper fillers are cloudy and very fragile. I cleaned them up with some detail spray and the detail spray took the cloudiness away and they look as good as the rest of the paint now. I'm sure they will haze again, but the detail spray works wonders. I can't say enough about that stuff. I think its my favorite product in the line. In any event, thank you for posting. I think its pretty cool that you get on here and post. It is one of the reasons I buy your products. Actually that's a lie. I buy your products because they work, but I still think its cool that you come on here and post offering guidance and advice along the way. Pics to come, but as stated earlier, it will be a while. Usually takes me a few days once I get working on a car. Thanks again!
  7. Thanks Nick! I appreciate the info. Pics to follow as soon as I get the BG / Americana on. Please be patient and don't be quick to ban. I take much longer than the average person when detailing my cars. I tend to be very picky and really get into what I do, so it may be a while.
  8. As the title suggests, I am looking for some feedback on Adams products best suited for lacquer paint. I have an 87 Grand National with original lacquer paint from 1987. The paint is still in fairly decent shape and the car is kept inside and out of the sun, but it is 27 year old lacquer paint. I try to keep it slick as possible, but there are some products / cleaners that can actually wipe the paint right off the car, so I am wondering what you all would recommend. Car is clean as it sits right now and I have been doing a weekly dusting with Adams detail spray and it looks great, but I am going to be taking it out and with that will come the need to wash and wax again. Adams gurus feel free to jump in here
  9. Making through these situations is what makes you stronger, both as a family and as a business. You tired something that didn't work out so well. In doing so, you also did your best to keep catering to your customers and get on here to let them know what was going on. Great effort on your part and I suspect that the customers will understand and maybe even relate to your story. In the end, as long as this is worked out in due course and current promises that are made are also kept, I'm sure you will come out of this stronger. Best of luck with everything. Please, please, please don't fall short on customer service as that is why I love this company in the fist place.
  10. Not sure what the meaning of this post is, but I would never run any of my cars through a car wash, especially the ones near me. No thanks. Even the touchless ones have guys that bang dirty brushes onto your car. All set with the car wash. At most I might use their vacuums.
  11. I would go ahead and clay the car, especially if you haven't done so already. Makes a HUGE difference and it doesn't take much time at all. Foundation is everything when it comes to...well...just about everything. Make sure the car is as clean as can be and then let the detailing commence.
  12. Very impressive. Finally...someone actually figured out that treating people well turns into loyalty. I have found that these guys are second to none when it comes to detailing and detailing related customer service. Just look at this forum that we are all typing away on. What a great resource! The Adams crew is always chiming in to answer questions and comment on the threads. I can't imagine how much time that eats up from their day as I see them posting on just about every thread that I look at. I have been a "business" person all my life and I like to treat people that way that I like to be treated, which is exactly the type of service you get at Adam's. The post / blog above does not surprise me at all. When speaking to any of the Adam's crew you really get the sense that they love what they are doing and they love sharing their knowledge with people that need the help. I only hope that they don't get so big that they lose that quality that makes them so unique, which is the personal touch that makes everyone feel like they are not only a customer, but a friend. Thanks Adams!
  13. Followed by its older brother...
  14. Next on deck is this fine little filly...
  15. I wish it was a GNX. Just a GN with 15K miles on the clock.
  16. The R is real. While most of my friends are into German toys, I like American muscle.
  17. Also knocked the dust off the GN with a doublesoft and some detail spray. That stuff works wonders on a black car. Original paint from 1987
  18. Another one of my cars that I just finished cleaning this past weekend. This one came out absolutely fantastic!
  19. Thanks guys! It took me w while to get it to that point and that is why it took me a while to get the pic posted. I really can't believe the results you get with these products. As I said in another thread...I'm now officially an addict
  20. So what do you guys think? Did my hard work pay off? Kind of hard to tell from the pic, but in person it looks like you can dive into this thing its so wet. Pretty amazing.
