  1. I drive closer to 99% of the time when we are together but I drop her off if we're doing anything at a major retail outlet. That way I can scope out as many of the "far corners" as I can without guilt. Another gem.....when we got home she looked at the work bench and thanked me for clearing it of all my products. I excitedly told her that I came up with a storage solutions in our upstairs air handler closet (biggest waste of space in the house until now). She looks at me and asks why would I put it upstairs when the laundry room has space on the shelf and it's right across from the garage door. I didn't have the heart to tell her that there is no way all of my stuff fits on that wee little shelf.
  2. I manage my 13 year old's baseball team. Since we try to get to our field an hour before the game starts, my wife drives separately with the rest of the kids. After last night's game, I walked my lovely wife to her van to help load up the kids. She looked around and asked "Where did you park?" I pointed over to the middle school parking lot about 100 yards away and said "There's no way I was parking in this dirt lot tonight. My car is too clean and this dust gets everywhere." She simply shook her head....nothing more.
  3. Not a big fan of the 6 series but wow....BIG fan of your wagon and your work. Holy Cow!
  4. I will echo what nearly everyone else here has said. Your wagon is so sweet. To be able to blow the doors off most of what is out on the roads in a wagon is the epitome of awesome.

  6. This was after my first attempt at 3 steps.....Paint Correcting, Paint Finishing and Liquid Paint Sealant to top it off. Planning on getting my first taste of Americana with my next order. I started with decent paint; not too swirled up, and got close enough to perfection for my needs. Especially on a daily driver. Love Adams stuff.
  7. Thanks, Jason. I bought it back in August....one owner maintained at the same dealer it was bought from and where I bought it. I have to say that the paint wasn't too bad for being 8 years old. Like I said, I was blown away with how easy Adam's stuff went on and came off. Looking for a neighbor or friend's car to do next!
  8. From the album: First Detail

    Cheesy low profile.
  9. From the album: First Detail

Rear edge of trunk lid. Heaviest swirling on the car was here.
  10. From the album: First Detail

Left rear door/qtr panel area. This area had some funky ghost-like drip marks all over. Almost as if water/soap was allowed to dry during washing.
  11. I just cleaned up my car over the weekend using Adam's 2 step correction : - 2 bucket wash - clayed entire car including glass using Detail Spray - Paint Correcting Polish w/orange foam pad - Paint Finishing Polish w/white foam pad - Liquid Paint Sealant w/black (gray) foam pad This was my first time truly using a machine polisher and I used all Adam's products with a PC 7424. I made 2 passes with the correcting and 1 pass with the finishing on the hood, trunk and roof. I only made one pass on the sides/rear/front with Correcting Polish and was extremely pleased with those results. I had light swirling from improper washing by the previous owner (my guess) but nothing major. The only place where I am not 100% swirl free is the hood and the few blemishes are random and so few I am not worrying about them. Likely another pass or maybe stepping up to the orange microfiber would remove them all. Or could be that is the panel I started on and I didn't have my technique down yet. Yeah...that's probably it. Based on my results, I would say if the car isn't too beat up then the Correcting Polish just might take care of everything in one step. I will say that I am blown away by everything I've purchased and used from here. I have an employee with a new truck who has the bug now as well! Sorry for the cell phone pics (side door where faint "drips" were visible; rear trunk lid edge with heaviest swirling, profile).....I will definitely get better before/afters next time.
  12. I was at a Home Depot looking at one and the box there said made in China. I scored one off eBay slightly used with the box and everything and it said made in Mexico. No clue.
  13. Kingsford is plugged in to shipping! Dimensional shipping charges are something that the big shippers are converting to beginning Jan 1, 2015. This is in direct response to the e-commerce explosion and the Amazon's out there only paying for weight of packages (currently) when their packages are taking up significant space on trailers. gbod, spot on. Amazon is banking on their Prime strategy to pay off long term in hopes that more people modify their shopping habits by increasing how much and what type of commodity they are willing to buy online. I've seen my own habits change to where I have lately purchased staples from Amazon instead of trudging to the store. It's the way things are moving. There are so many demands on our time any more that those of us who enjoy spending hours on a hobby like our cars have to find that time somewhere. So instead of taking an hour or more to go to the store for deodorant for myself, a calculator for my son, eyeliner for my wife and new ballet shoes for my daughter, I will spend 10 minutes adding these things to my Amazon cart and with Prime, have it in 2 days. Now in one transaction I've banked an extra hour for what I want to do. It may take 5-7 more years but Amazon is creating a base of people who will not be able to live without 2 day delivery and are willing to pay more for it. I myself didn't bat an eye at the increase nor do I think most people had an issue with it. For the record, I've never purchased Adam's products from Amazon. I do understand that in order for me to be able to enjoy products like his, I may have to pay a bit more for them to be around. Like most others have said, I wait until a sale for my orders. I look at 10-15% off as Adam's way of offering free shipping and am ok with that.
  14. I love the fact that you stay plugged in to your customer base, Adam. I'm a recent convert and since I live in FL, I use one of your vendors (Thompson Racing) who is able to get me most orders in 2 days. I might make a change once your east coast operation is up but I have been extremely pleased with the service from Eric. Maybe I can offer a different perspective since I have held many management positions with FedEx for 22 years. First of all, I agree that the average business loses money when it comes to shipping. For an online retailer, shipping costs can and do sometimes exceed the cost of the product so it's easy to see that flat rate shipping can have serious implications on a company's bottom line. Adam, you said this is a passion and that is obvious to anyone on these forums. But make no mistake; no one goes into business to lose money and I doubt anyone here would expect you to either. Have you worked with FedEx to see what other services they have that might help you offer a different shipping option for those people who don't need their items in a hurry or are only ordering a few items? We have a fantastic team of professionals who will look at your total supply chain and offer solutions for every type of need you can think of. Plus by leveraging the entire FedEx portfolio you should see some discounting that you can use to lower the cost to your customers.....or get that Bugatti. FedEx has flat rate, "if it fits, it ships" solutions, they have a lower cost solution other than their Ground offering that ties into an agreement they have with the USPS. While I am in Operations for FedEx, I would be glad to help facilitate a comprehensive review or even to discuss this with you offline. What drew me to your products is the level of involvement you have as well as the commitment to US manufacturing so I'm willing to help wherever I can.
