I had a very similar issue around the window molding on my Vette. I used Adams All Purpose Cleaner (APC) and it came off. I used a MF towel and put a little APC on the towel. I rubbed the molding to remove the white residue. Then I took a wet MF towel and rinsed the molding several time to make sure all the white residue and APC was removed. I then applied VRT and bam, all looked great.
I believe this stuff was from when I detailed the car with my PC and went too far with the pad.

Whether you use APC (great stuff), Simple Green or 409, make sure you rinse and rinse again. And when you believe all is out rinse one more time for good measure.
I use a dedicated shop vac for blowing off 95% of the water after a washing (shop vac has never been used for vacuuming). As I complete blowing off a section I use a Blue polishing MF to wipe the section with good results. I usually have to use 2 polishing MF but the car looks great afterwards.
I received my order of All Purpose Cleaner (Thank You Elite) and preliminary results look very good . I used a small amount on a cloth and rubbed the molding. Then I wiped it down with a wet MF cloth and dried with another MF cloth. Results look good .
Thank you Elite for getting my order to me quickly and to Adams for great detailing products.
I was to receive a shipment from UPS and when the UPS truck was on my street it did not stop. I checked the tracking number on the web and it showed delivered. I called UPS and they said the shipper had to originate a track of shipment. So I call the sender. UPS then called me to verify I did not receive the goods. About an hour later one of my neighbors knocked on my door with my package. Seems the driver had dislexia (sp) and swapped the address and delivered it down the street.
Hope that is all that happened.
I've ordered the All Purpose Cleaner, I'll wait for that. However, if all else fails, I'll ask the grandkids if I can have some of their peanut butter or go to Walgreens.
I have a 2009 Corvette and the outside black molding at the bottom of the driver and passenger windows have a white streak. I have tried VRT but while it inhances the black area, it leaves the white streak. I believe the streak may be from the PC buffer when I am waxing the car. What product can I use to get rid of the streak.
I am getting ready to detail my 2008 Black Corvette and my plan is to use the Machine Fine Polish then the Machine Super Wax. How long do I have to wait to apply the Super Wax after I complete the Fine Polish?
