  1. Acquired a new car yesterday. It was a demo car for the local dealerships so it had seen the spin wash a lot. Anyway, this morning I started testing to see what it's going to take to get it right.

Cleaned area with APC to remove whatever crap was on it, then clayed with detail spray. Attached afters are with the old Swirl and Haze Remover and Fine Machine Polish. One pass of each until flashed. Not 100% but we're moving in the right direction.

    Before. Trunk Lid.

What is everyones thoughts on the new Paint Correcting/Finishing Polish compared to the old style I'm using?

  2. Yes I traded Explorer in on Taurus. They paid it off, so I got out of the pricey payments I had on it and into something new. Explorer was only a "Loaded" (Sync and MFT) base model anyway. Was initially looking at a Titanium trim Fusion, but one sit and a quick spin in a Taurus and I was sold. Plus it's a limited with all the bells and whistles minus a sunroof.

The black I know could be a bit of a chore, but that green and blue flake in it.....YES.

  3. Well to add to this... Gave it some love on Sunday. But there's a twist.........

Tuxedo Black 2015 Limited Taurus demo car. You can tell the dealership tried to keep it clean, well...dealership clean. It's seen the ol' spinwash quite a few times I'd have to say. Stay tuned for some great before and afters.

Oh, and I have to share this. This was a freshly "detailed" 2013 Mercedes C300 on the pre owned lot.

  4. Yes sir. I'm right there with you. It irritated me for a day or two, however I removed myself from the forum and any associates I had with said group. When they said "I'm sorry but we're not going to be referring anyone to you", I said "That's fine, I'd rather not be referred to anyone that is like minded with yourselves."

    Moving on :P

  5. Some wheels are more delicate than others and can be stained by a wheel cleaner.  Are these wheels clear coated or just paint?

You know Guz, it was hard to tell. From what I could tell they are flat black with a Pink spray paint job and some goofy plastic things that bolt on to them.

  6. Well funny thing about that, I did, even with attached screen shots of him describing the trucks condition to me... But he and his wife just so happen to be president of the forum/group that they were posted on. So needless to say, all my before pictures disappeared rather quickly. Go figure.

Then their "VP" decided to post "Paying someone to do what you could do to your vehicle is like paying someone to (explicit) your significant other."

I returned with "Funny thing about that, if someone was capable of doing so, why hire someone in the first place?"

That was also deleted rather quickly

  7. Thanks for your reply Chris. I didn't know the wheels had a bunch of bolt on stuff over the faces, and I wasn't anticipating having to take them apart to clean them, I did what I could and what I could get to.

Trust me, we had quite a colorful conversation afterwards about how his view on what's acceptable is seriously distorted compared to the average being; myself included. I apologized they weren't 100% happy with what they were looking at and sent them the pictures of how the vehicle looked before I left that day. I have not heard back from them since. And like you mentioned, with the condition the truck was in, who knows if there was etching, permanent damage to wheels etc from lack of maint. Nothing stood out to me while I was with the vehicle all day, but you never know I guess.

In this thread, I was asking if there was a possibility of there being a haze after they are dry and clean, the consensus I'm getting is......NO. Also like I said previously, this the first "issue" I've had with DWC. I've always had great results, even days after.  I'm beginning to think the truck was joy ridden because that's the only picture I got. Their driveway is dusty gravel.
