  1. Same with me. Be hard for any brush to remove 100%. In most cases it cleans well enough and I just finish up with utility towel. On my wife's Chrome terrain wheels its almost perfect and detail spray and a towel and they are done.
  2. Not all Adams pads are waffle. Depends on application.
  3. I have never seen interior detailer do anything like that. I think you need to use diluted interior cleaner first. I have some inconsistent gloss issues which annoyed me but have always been resolved either by full cleaning first and/or multiple coats of interior detailer so everything soaks in completely because as mentioned above things have different porosity. I do like the latest version of interior detailer much more than the older TID formulas.
  4. I could not agree more. I love being able to squirt APC on my truck knowing it wont strip my CC protection off. Not to mention since this car is seeing the track and what appears to be harsh environments (IE windshield replacement) the extra projection of CC would nut hurt.
  5. Not for me. I have had issues with it streaking and so have others. Not saying its a bad product, just not something I personally would recommend for a non enthusiast.
  6. His video is not much different than going to a car wash. There will always be some sort of film if you don't hand wash. Car washes have some advantage as their soaps are typically not PH neutral and designed to cut as much of the film as possible but the harsh soap strips wax too. If it was me, I would use a foam canon on a pressure washer and then wash with pressure washer and call it good. Every few times do the same thing but use Adams truck brush or a wash pad on a pole available from other company's.
  7. Personally if you are 100% happy with the paint now I don't think you need it. Just strip and clay bar. However, you will be locking in any imperfections under a super hard ceramic coat so you wont be able to improve anything after the fact unless you buff the ceramic back off to fix it. I buffed the hood on my Silverado and clayed the rest of the truck and applied CC. I am perfectly happy with the results.
  8. Well most protection is going to have an issue with streaking after rain from my experience. I am using VRT on my truck which is similar to yours. The bed caps do not seem to do that to bad if you apply the VRT and buff it down with a towel. I am pretty liberal with everything else on the truck.
  9. I think the HGG can be a little tricky personally and not something I would recommend to a "non enthusiast". Since its a weekend summer only car I would probably go Americana if it was me. If it was used more than that I would probably do LPS. I am assuming the car is garaged. If not, you might want to consider other options. If you want to recommend something for her after washing, a couple double soft towels and detail spray for drying would be good. I would be careful with spraying it off with water and drying occasionally as its hard to get dirt off and drying without lubricity can be dangerous to the paint.
  10. Then there is Adams Toilet Repair Parts LLC. Adams just needs a drop down box that labels it however you like. In all honestly, I hand wash Cindys car every week and towel dry, VRT and Tire shine. She has never had a car that looks so nice. She loves the Adams stuff!
  11. It's the other way around. Americana is the longest lasting traditional wax. Buttery is not something I would consider for a daily unless you like to wax monthly.
  12. You know after reading this Adams needs an option for tape. Maybe slip the belt off the washing machine and then order from Adams Wholesale Appliance parts. Take delivery on some detailing products and be a hero by fixing the washing machine (putting the belt back on). Save me from trying to catch the delivery guy when she is not home. Any time I need something, I just disable an appliance.
  13. The grit guard makes sense and I probably would have figured that out on my own, however washing from the center out escaped me. Its a no brainer once you try it.
  14. If this is for a daily driver why not consider Paint Sealant? Its about as easy to apply as wax and outlasts all off them. Not ceramic longevity but longer than Americana. If you like wax, put that on top of the paint sealant.
  15. If you do, I would make sure you get it rinsed out really well or you will have a wax stripping wash pad !
  16. Yea, wasn't my idea. I learned that from the University of Adams.
  17. Well of course you are going to have to buff the ceramic completely off to fix the paint. If its driving you crazy, I would do it now. Is it just the hood or everything?
  18. Yes, have did everything except the cover Eric and am trying HGG on that. Only issue is it will leave streaks down the paint after rains. Has not been too bad on this truck.
  19. Have not, but the VRT is a great tire product without the gloss of tire shine. The nice thing about VRT is you can control the shine amount by buffing it down with a towel. I typically put it on and let it soak in a little bit and then rub it down with my microfiber utility towel. Gives me the look I want.
  20. It it was mine I would strip wash it and try paint sealant. Wax would not have enough longevity for me and if you still want to wax you can always go over the top of the sealant.
  21. My 4" pad isn't like that at all. If you want to bring your PC down and try out my gray pad you are welcome to do so. I use a Rupes and it works fine on there.
  22. Been rainy year. I bought this truck about a month ago and has rained about 1/3 of the time. Loving blue skies today and truck is staying clean.
  23. Haha, what are the odds I love close to the dam. So very SE corner. And thanks for the comments on the TBSS. I bought it from Bob Browns new. I have a pretty solid collection of Adams so if you want to try something to see how it works, just let me know.
  24. Hi Eric ! Welcome from Ankeny !
  25. Never hurts to claybar them to start to make sure you are not smearing something around like sap.
