Hello everyone I have a quick question. My wife noticed a couple of months ago after I had washed some double soft towels as well as waterless wash towels that the next load she did came out with what appeared to be blotches or stains that looked to be of chemicals on some of our clothes. I brushed it off as maybe there was something else in there that caused it....flash to today and the same thing happened. Washed some waterless wash towels. A couple of days later the wifey washed some more clothes and some new clothes ended up getting some kind of chemical stains on a few of her shirts....are these towels not supposed to be washed in the washer? I hadn't read anything like that before....thanks for any help~Chris

I usually watch that portion of the main page pretty closely. I think they generally change the daily specials 3-4 times per week. Usually whichever product they list on Friday stays there through the weekend. Then, when they offer a special like the Mystery Box, they'll leave it up for as long as the sale is going on.
Roger that...the description on the daily special page says it updates DAILY....i'll keep that in mind about the weekend Moe!

Is it me or does the "Daily Special" on Adams website rarely change? Maybe I'm not paying attention enough and I could be wrong but I very rarely notice it changing. It says it is supposed to change "daily" at about noon. Just thinking out loud...

Absolutely correct.. I think we were very spoiled. From his in-depth product knowledge, video series and discussion of innovative new products (guard and gloss, progression on Adams coatings vs the "me too" products which don't seem to differentiate from other products out there - foam cannon, $70 fire hose nossle that looks identical to the cheaper one offered years ago etc).
The existing Adams team obviously works hard, but you don't lose someone like him without it having a negative effect.
for all of the newbies who is this DVK in which you speak of?

I always strip before polishing. (Clean it up, sicko.)
If polishing entire car - full strip wash.
If spot polishing - I strip with isopropyl alcohol.
what is the point of polishing? just too bring the finish back to a shiny look after the correction? and than the Americana and brilliant glaze just enhance it?
-
awesome looking Vette! thanks for the input!

On my quasi daily driver, I correct and clay once a year. I may touch up a few spots here and there throughout the year if they bug me.
On your garage queen I say once a year is more than enough, maybe even longer if the swirls stay away from it
What would you say I use to "enhance" the shine between washing then?
-
how often do you polish then? and do you need to do a all purpose cleaner wash before doing another polish?
-
I have a garage queen that I only drive on the weekends and when it's not raining. I did the whole adams APC/claybar/paint correction/sealant/etc......in between full 2 bucket washes with the foam gun I use waterless wash as well as a coat of Americana and or brilliant glaze depending on my mood and the car looks amazing.....so now to my question how often are you doing a paint correction on your garage queens? how often are you claybarring? how often should I be doing the process all over again from start to finish on my garage queen? thanks for any help!

Quality - Ease of use - Service - Made in USA
Not necessarily in that order but those are my 4 top answers.
you should be more specific with this answer.....as in not everything is mad in USA...

I'm sorry that you feel that I'm making excuses Chris. Hiring summer-time/temporary help for customer service is not always an easy proposition, as we would need to take more time to train the person on how to use systems, and they must have expert knowledge of our products to answer questions correctly. We recently hired more people onto the shipping team to handle an increased amount of orders, which increases our overhead expenses. We will be looking into having more help on the forums as well.
My response wasn't directed to you specifically Dan and I apologize if you felt that way. You are not the only moderator on these forums and were not the one that I said was making excuses. Everyone get's busy....but if Adam as a small business isn't willing to grow your staff as your customer base grows than that's just bad business....you're going to have a period where new employees aren't going to know EXACTLY what the veteran Adams people know.....the issue is having the patience to train them.
-
From my short time here the majority of the excuses as to why they can't get back to everyone in a timely manner is because their a small company. Or that their short handed due to a big sale blah blah blah. It's ok to be a small company and keep the personal factor there between customer and the seller but it wouldn't hurt to hire some summertime temporary help.

This ford flex came in as just a wash, clay bar and wax. It endup leaving with a full paint correction, bg, paint sealant and coat of americana. It we also did a full interior detail and sealed the windows. This was also the first time using the tire and rubber cleaner. What an awesome product to use....
The start......
The finished product....
I really need a better camera to show the depth and clarity of the paint....
If you don't mind me asking what do you typically charge for a full paint correction and interior detail on a car that size?

I have 2 brand new bottles of buttery wax I'd be willing to trade for something if you'd be interested. Let me know!

I'm running out of "bubbles"....

Hmm maybe by adding it to the wash pad the soap is getting absorbed into it....I use about 2 ounces every wash....maybe I should start adding it to just the bucked and not the wash pad instead?
-
Hey everyone, every time I put soap on the adams wash pad and try to get it to "suds up" with the hose I always find that I'm running out of suds after doing just the hood. I find myself having to add more soap to the actual water in the bucket, and than adding even more water after that too get more suds....am I doing something wrong? I followed the youtube video and Adams shows himself adding soap to the actual pad as opposed to the water....any tips and tricks as to get more suds out of my car shampoo?

The 4th. post is why I stick with Adams, you cant beat that.

I agree. Although, that's the only communications he's had with me this far. Maybe the 4th of July weekend is keeping him busy?
-
Hmm. Seems like it's a bunch of us with the same issues. Hopefully Dan will get us some info soon.
-
I appreciate the reply Dan! I did leave a message. Maybe that's why I didn't hear back from you yet. I didn't snag then on anything like some have said but you never know. Let me know what you need from me Dan for the new ones. I'd appreciate it.

Hello everyone! I am not starting this thread to bash Adams as I currently already have an email into Adams for my waterless wash towels issues....I was just curious if anyone else had these same issues with their towels or if I am just the only one. I may have washed them incorrectly but i doubt it...my waterless wash towels are already becoming detached at the seams....as you can see below in the pictures both of my waterless wash towels are coming apart...maybe they had a bad batch or maybe i'm washing them wrong?(hand washed in a bucket with light soap and water than let to hang dry) Thanks for any help you might have for me....

what do you want for the leather conditioner as well as the interior cleaner? i have a brand new buttery wax as well as all purpose cleaner i'd be willing to trade...
-
i appreciate the help AV...I have a white car....so any little spec of dust etc bugs me lol.....what is everyone using to help them see swirl marks in their paint aside from the sunshine and looking really close....I'd like something handheld that I can use in my garage to help me see things more "clearly"
Suggestions for detailing a car once....
in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Posted
Hey everyone, I had someone housesit for me while I was away on vacation and in return I told them I would detail their car for them. It's a brand new prius (habanero orange) and was just wondering what you guys suggest for detailing the outside of the car? I don't want to do a whole paint correction, would like to do something like a 2 bucket wash followed by a clay, than maybe Americana then brilliant glaze? does that sound reasonable....should I add in paint sealant in place of something else? what does everyone suggest?
