  1. It hasn't been detailed yet, but will be soon. I guess a good way to start is with these 'before' pics. After I get to detailing, I'll add the 'after' pics. Not that it was anywhere near as bad as our other 2 vehicles that made quite a transformation after the winter season, but it does need a good detailing inside and out. Then again, I guess I'm overly picky about some things. This baby needs to really shine. New to us: 2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, 4325 miles on 7/24/09. It's bone stock except for the Shelby 3rd brake light. Guess I'll have to make due with 500 hp, for now. My wife bought it for me (so she says) for my upcoming birthday. She really did buy it - it's in her name only (I did get to look it over with her). I guess I better behave from now on, so I don't get grounded and get it taken away from me. Here are some "before detailing" pics:
  2. Hybrid sales are down 65% this year since fuel prices have dropped. Folks don't really want the little tin cans that only get 45mpg's. Plus, a whole lot of folks found out all about the limitations to the hybrids - great in a city, but if you've got to drive any distance, do hills, etc, they fall short. And there are too many families that just can't fit in the little so-called econo cars. And this country can never live without pickups - it's what built America. Believe me, there are still plenty of Americans that like to feel the power when they step on the pedal, it's just that the smaller majority is a whole lot louder about their agendas. Keep the faith boys & girls!!
  3. Yeah, that was pretty good, wasn't it? I don't have plans set up just yet, but I expect to be back out again in July and/or August, so I'll keep you posted.
  4. LOL! One good corner in that sucker in the snow and your tires would be pointing strait up! Finally got rid of the clouds? When I was out 2 weeks ago, it was cloudy every day until about 2-3pm - wasn't quite prepared for that. Boy, is it muggy out there!
  5. Hey Dylan! How's things in SoCal? Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out considering the damage. Bet you're glad you don't have to deal with all that winter mess trashing yours.
  6. Here are a few 'after' pics of my truck from last October's detailing. Unfortunately, I didn't take any 'before' pics, but suffice it to say that I'm still hearing from folks about the incredible transformation my truck has gone through, after being a rough looking 'contractor' truck that I never had much time to keep on top of. Needs a little more detailing yet to get rid of some of this past winter's grime, so when that's done, I'll post new pics. The Machine Wax that I put on in October is still in great shape after a rough mountain winter.
  7. Well, I did goof off a little bit while she was gone. Went to a couple of our local Powerstroke club events, and spent some time up at a local raceway yesterday talking to a bunch of Mustang owners and checking out all their rides. The reason for the big makeover on the Denali is that my wife is wanting a new car. Since both her car and my truck are paid for, I'd like to keep the 2 older paid-for trucks to take the beating in the winter, and only have to deal with buying one new car. I'm waiting for the new 2011 5.0L Mustang GT to be introduced early next year, so I can place my order. That will end up being the babied vehicle, and I'll be hitting up the Mustang rallies and pimping a little product once we have that. Of course, I'll have plenty of modding to do too. Keeping my fingers crossed that after she sees the "new" ride, she'll agree to keep her car and just wait for the Mustang. I talked to a lot of wives that are as into the whole Mustang thing as their husbands, and I think my wife will end up doing the same.
  8. No, I have not yet tried the new clear bra product on it. The clear bra is a bit torn up. It's the first one I've ever put on a vehicle, and probably won't do it again. Around here, they actually mix in pea gravel with the winter sand/salt mixture. (That's why we go through a windshield every season or two) I hit the clear bra with the Swirl & Haze remover, then with Revive, then Americana Paste Wax, all by hand. It looks a lot better than when I started. I really need to replace & repaint the entire front end on that car - the painted plastic bumper is severely chipped up, and the chrome coated plastic grille takes a much worse beating than the chromed metal. I did use the new 3" pads on the grille with the Swirl & Haze, Revive, & then hand waxed with Americana. Same procedure on the wheels, which were also pretty trashed, but came out looking really good.
  9. We're looking into some new, better containers all the way around. Some of the products are in current containers, some in potential new containers, and some in old containers. It's what Adam and I had in our combined personal stock.
  10. Here are a few more before & after shots: Keep in mind, all the before shots were immediately after washing & drying, but before polish, wax, VRT, etc.
  11. Hi Folks, I thought I'd post some pics I took the last couple of days of my wife's car before and after detailing it. It's 6 years old, and hasn't had much detailing over the years, so it was definitely overdue. It also needed a winter's worth of grime removed. Our winter roads can be pretty messy, and the vehicles take a good beating from Nov.-May every season. I used the new 3" pads and my cordless drill to clean up the chrome plated plastic front grille and the wheels, which were in pretty rough shape after the winter salt & mag chloride, and they turned out great considering the condition they were in before I started. My wife has been out of town for a week, so I'm hoping she'll be happy with the results when she gets back and gets a look at her "new" old car.
