  1. I use H2O G&G on my wheels, and it makes it simple to remove the brake dust and grime with some waterless wash or just a stream from a hose between washes. I reapply it every 3 weeks - it makes cleaning them so much easier if you don't want to go down the coating route just yet.
  2. Aftyer a cold night here in Queensland - the dew created these tiny beads all over the car. Adam's doing what it does best!
  3. Option B for sure! (as long as they clear the brakes) Also, if you need any Holden parts sent over, let me know - I worked at Holden as a technician for 9 years and have a great relationship with the parts department still - happy to track down certain rarer parts too! (HSV and Holden Special Option parts were our dealerships specialty) Feel free to PM me if you need anything
  4. I use mine for drying wheels after H2O G&G application to make sure they are completely dry. They fit so well in between the spokes to make sure they are perfectly clean and dry (H2O makes the brake dust fall off as well, makes cleaning the wheels a breeze with just a quick hit with the hi pressure washer and a bit of car shampoo if they are really bad) They also work well for cleaning windows and I keep one in the car to dry any water that comes from my mirrors etc after a wash so I don't get any mater spots or marks. Such a versatile towel! I love receiving them in the mystery boxes!
  5. Always good to know! I have a spare bottle of Paint Sealant here (2 bottles total, MB keep me stocked up ) but will be grabbing a new formula bottle when they are available!
  6. Looks amazing! The Yellow suits the shape so much
  7. Hey Joseph - I love the G&G, but I have a small car, so I don't use all that much, I still have 3/4 of the bottle I bought just after Christmas! It's one of my favourite products, and I wish I used more of it to keep my car looking great I am picking up another car on the weekend, and it will be getting the paint sealant and G&G treatment, as long as the weather holds out! It does have a lot of black trim though (bumpers etc) so it could be a candidate for coating... That was my thinking as well - I know wheel trims are often forgotten, but I clean mine every wash, and would love to keep them even a little bit protected. That's great to hear! I might give it a go on my weekly wash this weekend and see how it goes! Thanks for the feedback This forum is the best!
  8. I thought the hydrophobic properties of it would help stop water and stuff building up on them, helping them stay a bit cleaner for longer - good to know an answer either way
  9. I was thinking of that, but I have 3 16oz G&G sitting here that I'm not going to get through (from MB) and as the trim coating is quite expensive here in Australia, is it possible just to use G&G by itself as a temporary coating?
  10. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone has done this to keep their wheel arch trims looking good for more than a week? I figure using the G&G would 'lock in' the look of the undercarriage spray and keep the plastics protected at the same time, as well as making them easier to clean during the weekly wash. Any thoughts? A good/bad idea?
  11. It was on my partners car and she had to drive that afternoon, otherwise I would have loved to have left it on overnight to really bond to the paint before wiping it off. Had no issues though, came straight off with ease. We haven't got the new formula here in Aus to try yet, but I can't imagine it would be any harder to wipe off.
  12. I've left paint sealant on for over 2 hours and never had an issue wiping it off. I thought it was recommended to leave it on for an hour to allow a proper bond with the paintwork, even though it says you can wipe it off after a couple of minutes. that was applying by hand, not with a machine, car was parking in the shade on a warm day (25 degrees celcius, so maybe 75 F)
  13. Entered - Hopefully they will post to Australia if I win!
  14. Washed, clayed, fully cleaned wheels and arches and started correcting the paint on my partners dads car (Holden Commodore - Chevy SS but V6 version) Ran out of sunlight today, so the rest will have to wait until the weekend, but here's a cheeky 50/50 shot of the munted paintwork ????
  15. How many sprays are you using per panel? I find 2 or 3 for the first few panels (doors, front guards etc) and then reduce the usage as the towel gets loaded up, down to 1 spray and let the build up in the towel do the rest.
  16. wetsanded and polished out some paint lines on my daily Honda - someone had taped off half the rear quarter panel and sprayed right up to it without blending it, so I had a hard edge that I could rest my credit card on Started with 1500 wet and dry and finished off with 2500 wet and dry before polishing over it to remove the sanding marks, turned out OK for my first time ever wet sanding and polishing. The car isn't perfect, it has some hail damage and stone chips from its 300,000km life. It will be my practice car to build up my confidence before tackling other peoples cars - friends and family etc. Before sanding After sanding and polishing
  17. Yeah I figured that would be the main reason why we didn't have them here - will be grabbing the 15mm once they become available here and I get my skills up!
  18. I only got the 12mm one in the hopes that the swirl killer 15mm would be come available, so having the smaller one will still be helpful with a smaller backing plate too. Are we getting the mini here as well?
  19. Cheers! Hopefully it will come up nicer after some Adam's Correcting and Finishing polishes this weekend
  20. Second Josephs helpfulness! Has really helped me with picking up my game over the last 6 months, with great advice in picking the right products to get my cars looking great
  21. Gave my DD a good clean up after it hit 300,000km (186,000 Miles) getting it ready for when my DA polisher arrives later this week! It turned out as well as an old car that's never been corrected can and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it to bring it back to its former glory!
  22. Hey Guys, I did a quick search on here, but couldn't find a 'defined' answer for this. I have ordered my first polisher (12mm Shinemate DA, not Adam's as we don't have access to them here in Aus yet - hint hint!) and it comes with a couple of pads. I have some Adam's 5" pads on order, and I was wondering if there is any special procedure for the very first time you use the pad. Do you have to prime them with anything before using them, or are they good to use straight out of the packaging? I know many people use a shot of detail spray or distilled water to help reactivate previous polish in the pad when they are in use, but no real instructions on the first time using the pads from brand new. I have read about some 'other' brand pads needing to be primed and used lubricated for the first few passes to reduce the chance of pad and foam dust, and failing to do so can lead to a fair amount of dust and foam particles being thrown everywhere until the pad wears in. I would like to avoid this and also avoid causing any damage to my paintwork in the process - as I have never used a polisher before Any advice would be much appreciated!
  23. Make sure to tell the dealership not to 'detail' it! They will add scratches and swirls all over the paint! (I used to work in a dealership, and some of the cars that came through there after being detailed looked like they had been dried with sandpaper) Best to get them to just hose it off, and look after the detail yourself to ensure it's up to your standard looking forward to pictures when it arrives!
  24. G'day from another Aussie! Welcome to the addiction! Adam's products will make that Yellow really stand out even more!
  25. It's been raining here for the last couple of days, Applied a new coat of LPS on the daily after a good clay and topped with buttery wax. Great beading and the water just rolls off when I start driving - the car was dry when I got to work
