MIne seems to leak when the foam gun isn't hooked up pretty bad. But when it's hooked up it doesn't leak, I've noticed it getting worse about the last 2-3 times I have used it. I haven't had the time to pull it apart but I'm interested if you find anything.

Got a bottle in a Mystery Box, used a couple sprays and it's not for me. Don't know exactly what I would trade maybe gallons of something, Wash&Wax, Towels, who knows.

Falcaineer, thank you for the welcome to the Adam's forum. Been doing a lot of reading and learning at the same time. Sooo much great info on the forum about taking care of our rides and keeping them looking amazing.
Mbrazelton, now THAT is serious dedication to the family trading in your ZL1 for a Silverado!!! I tip my hat to you and salute you for being a great family man!!! I can understand about where you live kinda determining what sports team you "should" root for lol. No worries, I'm not a win or die fanatic lol. Really do enjoy great rivalries games like Bears vs Packers, Cub vs Cards, Hawks vs Cyclones, makes for some great games to watch!
Haha I loved the ZL1 but had it for 6 months and had quite a few problems. Right now I'm looking to build a single turbo LSX foxbody for fun.

Mbrazelton,
My condolences on the Cyclone country living...........J/K! That was probably one of the best rivalry games I've seen. Certainly one of the best that I can think of between the Hawks and Cyclones!!! That's one of those games it doesn't matter if you're a Hawk fan or a Cyclone fan, it's almost always a great game.
Tony
I am neither a Iowa or Iowa State fan for the most part but living near Ames I root for the Cyclones if I have to pick. But enjoy the new pickup I just picked up a Silverado and love it so far, traded in my ZL1 Camaro for a more family friendly truck.

I used the paint sealant on mine and have had good luck with it.
-
I did one a couple weekends ago, that was bad. I sprayed it down with Carpet and Upholstery cleaner then vacuumed, then used my interior brush to pull more up.
-
You don't need a Swirl Killer to put paint sealant on, you can use a microfiber applicator. Also depending on the color I would use some brillant glaze somewhere in your process.
-
Might think about Paint Sealant. I just got a new Silverado and did about the same process but paint sealed it and now amd going bakc with Buttery wax and Brillant glaze.

I usually use the Red Wash mit on the bottom half of the truck, bug areas, and wheels. Then use the regular one on the top half.

Figured if I wipe it down tonight with waterless wash, and get the dust off most likely the residue will come off with it.
-
Yeah, it must be something with the moisture in the air and the dust. Went out at lunch and you couldn't see it.
-
I clayed then wiped it down with detail spray, then finishing polish, then sealant. The truck is a dark grey metallic and out lot is gravel so it's pretty dusty, then the moisture from this morning my guess didn't help.
-
Also clay bar during the detail spray.
-
No I just washed, then used detail spray to clean the left over water spots. Then used finishing polish and Paint Sealant. I watched the Adams video and never saw anything about using Isopropyl Alcohol before, was I supposed to.

Saturday I spent about 5-6 hrs paint correcting my new Silverado. It did not need much just mostly spent the time on the paint sealant and Finishing Polish, the truck looked perfect. But yesterday with the 30MPH winds and the dust at my work the truck became pretty dusty. Today on my way to work I noticed the truck had got some dew on it from it being cold and you could see some buffer marks and some of what looked like polish was left, that I never saw in the last 2-3 days. Is this normal sometime and will Detail spray take it off.

Only 80 miles in one year, wow. Interested why you guys never drove them that much?
In Iowa it snows about 6 months out of the year so that kills that, before I got rid of it I was telling the Fiancee that I'd have to put it away most likely right before our wedding in November because it could snow at anytime after that. The other bad is the tires it had to be about 40 Degrees to run them. Then you worry about storms and hail, just wasn't worth having it to just drive from here to there on the weekends.
-
I actually did the same thing, I bought a ZL1 and never really drove it, so traded it in for a new Silverado. I miss the sports car but sucked never driving it.

If you're picking the little nibs off with your finger nail, I'll bet they're fly poop, not rail dust. Rail dust is hot metallic pieces that attach themselves to the clear, clay is needed to remove it, or something like Wheel Cleaner, as discussed above. The black specks you're scraping off with your finger nail is, most likely, leaving a tiny circle of residue on the paint. Washing may remove it, clay will remove it. When Wheel Cleaner is applied to it, if it doesn't turn red, it's not rail dust.
I will try I haven't been able to give it a good super bath, but I need to so I can paint seal it this weekend.

I find the blue wheel cleaner to be a little too thick for my taste (for decon that is). I have used it in a pinch though.
Could someone dilute it?
New car paint protection a must

My new Silverado was the same way, clay barred then paint corrected then sealed and now it looks amazing. Only upkeep lately is Buttery Wax and Brilliant Glaze.
