It is embarrassing for the US Olympic Committee. They can set rules.
However, many sponsors are international (the line is blurred) so to me BP sponsoring is a non-issue. They just spent a fortune paying fines for the Gulf of Mexico spills. Please remember that BP is the company formed by British Petroleum and AMOCO.

12 AWG cords can carry 20A but in order to officially carry a 20A rating they need a 20A rated plug. For users of the 8HP Master Blaster, you should be using 12AWG cords.

Here it a little tip. I hate kinking my hose when I do a flood/pooling rinse and i also Absolutly fear scratching my paint with the hose end so I got a short length of old garden hose about 8' long I use the on off valve to throttle the water pressure and with no metal hose end virtually worry free rinsing.
I wash using a shutoff with a spray/fire hose nozzle with a quick disconnect between them. I cut off an old cheap hose added a male disconnect so I remove the sprayer and attach the hose end. I use the shutoff to control flow. Kinking may cause damage so not taking any chances.
When I retire another hose I will make a new one with the hose end a little bit longer to extend over middle more.

Don't forget that a small hose diameter will constrict the GPM.
This would include the water line to the faucet. I checked mine and the feed for the outside faucet drops down to 1/2-in at a T-connection maybe 10ft from the faucet. I use 5/8-in hoses. full flow water shutoff, but I know the hose reel adds a loss (bypassed that when evaluating water flow/pressure) plus the under the house run. I have lower pressure/flow due to the water softener setup but enough to run a 2.5GPM gas or my Kranzle.
I really noticed that flow makes a different in fire hose nozzles. I had one but never worked well but tried the Adam's and it seemed to perform better in lower pressure/GPM situations.

I have the Karcher X series thats rated at 2000 psi Karcher K5.740 - X Series 2000 PSI (Electric-Cold Water) Pressure Washer
and its barely enough pressure to be considered a pressure washer. the problem with the electric models is their power and reliability. for car washing, you need anything that runs at least 1800 psi and won't break after a few uses. remember, you get what you pay for. you can't just look at the flow rate, there's a term with pressure washers called cleaning units which is the pressure times the flow rate. for washing, if its over 2500 cleaning units, it'll get the job done.
I have a Kranzle K1120T, spec'ed at 1400 psi @ 2GPM, and find 1400psi to be more than enough to wash a car. I would not get it any closer than 2 ft to risk damage with the fan pattern - never with the jet stream.
I have seen pics from most any1400psi+ pressure washer to generate plenty of suds with a foam cannon. I hope to play with mine this weekend.

Plus - the girls think you're really HOT when you're wearing it.
You bet !

It really is nice when vacuuming interiors in garages, polishing paint, or buffing of the wax/sealant. It will really highlight dirty wells, crud in crevices, etc. when doing the final inspection.
It is hands free.

Idk...Is it just me or does he seem a bit "off"
I suspect what you sense is that he is just not as rehearsed on what he wanted to say as when doing the detailing videos. Good videos take time.

There is something(s) on the left side in a bag, black in color, just past the wheel brushes... is the new wheel woolies? (or whatever we are going to call them)
If you had CSI technology, that image would be razor sharp !

I am SW Virginia (Patrick County) are quite often.

That was kind of you. great idea, and great to support some local kids that are out there making the effort for their cause. I bet they remember that gesture for a long time.
There was teen group doing a charity car wash this weekend at an Advanced Auto parts place (shares lot with a Walmart).
They had a pressure washer but not being used at the time. I had seen a set up here before and an adult was running the pw then.
There were or 5 holding signs and making noise (hollering) as you drive through the parking lot and heard them say they just accept donations.

You can't tell b/c of the speed, but at one point a passing car with my neighbor driving says "mines next!" I don't even look up b/c he says that EVERYTIME I'm working on something out front.
I slowed it down when I watched it the second time. You still work fast.
I noticed you first clean the wheels and then go back around the second time to do the tires and wheel well.
Is it faster than doing the entire wheel/tire area at one time. You have one brush so would need two brushes. You also do not rinse them until you are doing the initial pre-wash rinse on the paint.

So who says the economy is getting worse?

I hate the "search is your friend" reply for this forum. I like to think we are above that.
WW or Glass Cleaner can work in a pinch, just remember that WW is more lubricious than DS...so you would in theory be using less of it...and no not something I would clay with full time.
Mook
Does Adam's recommend using waterless wash as a safe clay lube alternative?

I wonder what the pressure that comes from the sprayers at the car washes? My guess it is 1200 to 1500 psi but does not look like the gallons per minutes is that high given the time needed to fill the bucket.

Yeah, I see the audio is on one channel. The HD looks great. Interesting that the front plates say Nebraska and the rear plates say Georgia.

I have found you do not need as aggressive polish/pad to get the same amount of paint leveling (removing clear) so someone upgrading from a PC to a Flex should not automatically use the same polish/pad combos.
Start with a less aggressive method first to see what works so you are not removing unnecessary paint rather than just using prior PC combos. In the end to remove a swirl, you have to remove x amount of paint no matter which machine you use. I like the fact it can do it faster, less sensitive to down pressure (just hold it flat against the paint), but it does not work well in tight spots where a 4-in pad is needed.

We may not agree on Iraq and Afghanistan, but we should always remember the people that died on 9/11 and those that were sent and died in these countries.

It always nice to see the flooding technique repeated. It is under used.

That's exactly what we need!!!
China tried it...did not work.

VRT will wash off, its a water based product while UCS isn't.
I have not seen a significant difference. That is why I asked.
-
Are you suggesting to use both UC Spray and VRT?
If so, what is the procedure?
Bump.
Has anyone used VRT for a wheel well dressing rather than the UC spray. I have a hard time judging durability and wondering if the VRT would be about just as durable.
-
I checked on the acid content and you appear to be right ..from the MSDS sheet. I was told do not use acid except on chrome.
-
This is easily fixed, and a quick swipe with a tire sponge, or detail sponge and a little VRT will make the finish even and perfect.

You always need to have extra pads -- stuff happens.
