Ah so that is the difference.. that helps. I am looking for it to be the middle machine. I bought a 15mm pro last year along with the micro. (Which is great). This would round out the middle for things the other 2 cannot do

Circling back on this.. which is the more versatile machine SK pro 12mm or the Mini 12mm?

Yeah I bought the Micro for the dual purpose.. I need the rotary feature now and the DA feature more often later

I mainly bought this for the rotary function and small areas for the bumper and side ground effects to get in areas after wet sand. my 7" rotary is too big for some areas. 

I am considering  the SK mini for 3" duties for DA polishing.. I can also use the 2" pad setup for the Micro. 

Like I said, I will see if it fits and decide if I want to try it or not.

interesting. I would think as a rotary there would be less of a chance as an orbital for bearing wear.  I am currently wet sanding and buffing some new parts for my car. I will see if it fits and then decide if I want to try it

The adapter I was referring to is a direct drive adapter for use with the Brush. When I went to take a pice I saw the plastic threaded end of the brush and it made sense.

as for 3-3.4" inches pads. I found a 3" backing plate that should fit. The included backing plate stud is a M6*1.0

know if the backing plate fits next week when I receive it

I will take a picture and post the plastic threading I am referring to. The adapter in the kit is metal but looks to accept plastic threaded backing plates

Any more info other than do not use 3" pads?  Also in the kit it looks like an adapter to a plastic type threading ? what fits that? Also I assume for use in spots after a wet sand the Microfiber pad will cut more than the Blue pad?

I just got this and really like it however, where can I get a 3" backing plate? or is the one on the machine good enough for 3" pads?

Americana is the better wax, but the choice is yours.

Oh I don't doubt it.. Glad i have the right order.. steps 1-3 are almost done

Working on my 1990 Corvette and wanted to be sure I have all the steps I want to do correct:

1) wash

2) Clay bar

3) Compound with SK and pad

4) Polish with SK and pad

5) Sealant ( I have HGG which I assume will work)

6) Brilliant Glaze

7) Buttery Wax ( or Americana Wax) 

I have the Buttery wax but maybe the Americana will be better?

Done until spring. Now I can work on mine

You can feel/ hear the power drop out while running. It is 18 years old. I will take it apart once I get my new one

I think my old Polisher is dying.. I might need to wait to finish what I started.. few more progress pictures

I ordered some new toys (SK 15mm pro) but while waiting I had my F-I-L car back due to clutch hydraulic failure and did a quick test panel, while sun fade may not go away I can make it better looking

My corvette is looking a bit ready for some paint correction, it really needs a repaint, but I don't have the $$$ for that at the moment so paint correction will be a good learning experience.. I have 4 cars in the fleet, White van, Black Vette, Dark blue Cruze (son's) and red Charger. so I have a good range of color..

Thanks for the input. One question, it says you can get an optional 6" backing plate. I have 6" (or 6.5") pads what is the correct larger backing plate to buy for use with the larger pads?

So I have been using Adam's Products for 15-20 years. I am finally wanting to upgrade my orbital polisher. It is a Dewalt unit someone

recommended over the PC years ago. I am looking at the 15mm or 15mm pro. Any suggestions on which unit will suit my purpose? I use the polisher a couple times a year.
