  1. So, I understand you can use the ceramic boost as a standalone paint protectant and that the car doesn't necessarily have to be ceramic coated. How does it compare to the H2OGG? Can you use the CB after using the H2OGG to dry the car? Thanks!
  2. Well, it looks like the fourth time is the charm. It's taken me 3 more scrubbings ON TOP of the initial one I did to get to some level of "bare" black. You can see the progress photos from after first application today (2nd overall), after second, and finally after the third consecutive application (fourth overall). Hoping I don't have to go to this event again after today.... Bought a new tire brush, too. $5 dish washing brush at the grocery store. I'm sure Adams tire brush is great, but I don't know if I can justify $15 for it... Thanks everyone for the suggestions!
  3. Some photos of the undressed tires after being cleaned yesterday late afternoon. Hard to notice in the direct sun, but they're even more brown than before they were cleaned. You can see in the third pic what I was talking about with the bristle marks.
  4. Thanks guys. Maybe today I'll take a couple more passes with it. The odd thing is that before I got the Tire & Rubber cleaner, I was just using APC...and it didn't look nearly this bad.
  5. Been using the tire and rubber cleaner for my last 3 washes, with 2 week and then 1 week interval between washes. Dressing with what's left of a bottle of Griot's version of VRT. I noticed after about a week of driving, my tires were looking a bit more dated than I would expect and showing a few brown spots. Used the T&R cleaner on a wet tire and brushed with the wheel brush (didn't have a firmer bristle brush). Tires looked..."okay." Fast forward to yesterday's wash. Found a firmer bristle brush (basically a scrub brush like you would use to scour a floor). Same deal - wet tire, T&R cleaner, scrub. Rinse. This time my tires are noticeably MORE brown AFTER cleaning. I can see traces of brush marks in the brown...it almost looks as if the T&R cleaner MADE the brown stains. Seems like I'm getting the opposite results of what I should be seeing. Has anyone has issues with this? Will post pics in a few minutes....
  6. Funny, I was just about to post this similar question. Maybe I'll get a SK the next time I they offer the SKMB....
  7. Thanks for the info. Love being able to get real advice on how to use these products!
  8. ZMAN, if I ever hit 50 I may hit you up for a trade, too. Not sure if I'll ever go for coating my car unless I buy a brand new DD off the lot.
  9. I've got a PC 8424XP. Plan on getting the one-step polish with pads. I see it's sold as a kit with 6.5" pads, or I can purchase the one-step with the same set of 5.5" pads for about the same price. Which is the preferred size for use with a 5" backing plate? I'm thinking the 6.5" pads might be TOO large...?
  10. So if I was to use it in place of the HGG, I see it's a typical dry application: spray, wipe, wipe. Where does it stand compared to LPS? I'm assuming it would be preferable to layer on top of the LPS, once I eventually go that route?
  11. Hey guys- I just got a bottle of ceramic boost in my MB buy. I haven't got any ceramic coating or even any LPS on my cars. Basically just been using H2OGG. Are there any other uses for the ceramic boost or should I be looking to just trade it? Thanks!
  12. 2 sprays per panel? No wonder my bottle is already almost half empty...
  13. Chris, I haven't noticed a whole lot of streaking...but that could also be sure to the fact that the car is white.
  14. Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I have def been overdoing it.
  15. How much G&G are you supposed to apply? I've got a Yukon XL (read: LOTS of surface area) and I apply as directed onto a wet surface before wiping with a damp/wet microfiber cloth and then buff with a dry. What I notice is that after applying and wiping in a few spots, my wet towel is soaked as expected. But when I go to wring it out, it's LOADED with G&G. So much so that I can see it oozing out like cream from between my fingers. Anyone else notice this? Am I using too much? Should I be wringing this out over the vehicle surface to apply again?
