For the lug holes, try some vinegar mixed with distilled water. Put some in a small container, dip a trim & lug but brush into the mixture and act as if you’re cleaning them normally. Rinse thoroughly with distilled water and you should be good to go. If it doesn’t come out with that you may have to take them off and clay/polish them by hand.

every time i was the car i do the vinegar treatment on the WHOLE passenger side (thats the side my sprinklers hit)  including the wheels.  and its helped.  that pic was taken AFTER last nights vinegar bath and full wash/dry.  so they are really at the point of no return LOL

Try a clay bar on the wheels. If the spots are from a recent incident it should pull them off. BUT, once you clay your wheels keep that clay bar for wheels ONLY. It will pick up all sorts of metallic contaminants from the brakes and you don’t want to rub that all over your paint.

thats what i was thinking too!!  clay isint soo expensive that i cant have 2 anyway if needed.  figure maybe ill do windows first them wheels... and keep it just for wheels after.

i fear the hard part will be the lug holes!!  not looking forward to those.

  3. hello guys, quick question.  i have HARD WATER from our sprinklers.  VERY hard water.  anyway my paint is spotted to hell. it'll need a full decontamination.  i wash it often to get that crap off fast but its too late.  my main question is can you use clay bar on the windows?  all the hard water is on my passenger side so i only have 3 windows to do. and 2 wheels.

if i can clay the glass, do i need to seal it afterwards?  i already have some adams glass sealant from my last MB.  or do you need to use something else?

    thanks for your input!!

  4. So my wife just pick me up a couple bottles of detail spray and I got to be honest the American Detail spray to me anyways does not smell like apple pie.  it smells good but to me it kind of smells like a minty version of Bengay back rub.  Not complaining but my nostrils don't smell apple pie at all.  And it smells exactly like the Canada spray too.

But I also got a bottle of pumpkin spice and yeah that stuff smells delicious

Not wrong, but probably overkill. Basically, yes, misting it. I just spray the tire with the hose, then spray on the TRC and scrub. It may be closer to 6-10 sprays, but I do have low profile tires, 225-45-R18, so your mileage may vary...but nowhere near what you've been using, I don't think. I also use the (old, longer bristle) red Adam's tire brush. Do you have either that or the new, shorter bristle one? If not, I highly recommend it. It foams up the cleaner really well. You'll get great results and I think be a lot happier overall.

i do use the red tire brush thanks!  ill start using less

:jawdrop:A whole bottle for 2 times around the car?! For reference, I use about 6 sprays or so per tire, with a 16oz lasting me quite a few washes. You may be using too much.

really?  well damn i was saturating the tire then scrubbing.  is that wrong?  so your just misting the stuff on THEN scrubbing?  i figured it had to be soaked and stay wet then scrub.

  7. thanks guys......got the washer on Friday, got all my QC fittings, actually came across a slightly longer (25') hose, my foam cannon should be here any day now (its coming with the 1.1 orifice also) so i hope to be foaming by Monday!

ill have to take a day to get all the hard water off my car first, damn city water sprinklers!!  then ill foam er down, give it a good waxing too!!

the nozzle looks like it comes off with a quick disconnect. You can still use Adams Snub nose, however you will need to buy the adaptor for the hose to connect to the MaleQuick Disconnect on adams snub nose.

Edit* at $100 it's not bad. I have a greenworks 1700 psi 1.2 gpm, but now thinking about getting a "better" pressure washer. If you are looking for the shaving foam tendency then you may want to look for a pressure washer with a higher GPM such as 2.0 and up and not the PSI. If you do go ahead with the one you have and still want the Shaving foam from the foam cannon just change the Orifice on the Foam cannon to a 1.1mm orifice.

thanks for the heads up i actually came across a 1.1 orifice late last night too!

  9. so when washing my cars i use our hose.  which is attached to our house water that runs through our softner system.  HOWEVER our sprinkler system is non potable water and VERY hard.  yesterday i got our sprinklers turned on and IMMEDIATLEY remembered our crappy hard water.  my dark grey car looks like hell with the hard water spots!!

when i got my car last year after about a week of sprinkler water hitting it i noticed the damned hard water.  it would not come off.  i searched around and found a 50/50 solution of apple vinegar/water mixture.  it actually worked.  but was a pain in the ***.  so i need to get this car a waxing but will need to remove the current hard water spots.

what do you all recommend in removing hard water spots?
