I have always had DI water but recently lost the service, any suggestions to eliminate hard water spots?  I do have soft water and wondering if I can just tie into that, not sure what effect that has on any for clear coat, etc.  We have really hard water when no other system is added to it!

There are products that can be used to preserve the patina.  My personal preference is from Eastwood and it is a two step method that is a Prep and then the preserver is applied.  As with anything with vintage paint, you need to find a test spot that is out of site to do first.  It is on sale right now for $10 a can and each can will do 12-16 square feet.  The regular price is $21 a can and that is just for the preserver.  

 

Once the preserver has been applied, if you let it cure for a day or two you can apply wax over it or you can just leave it as is.  I have used both American and the original Ceramic Paste Wax and both worked well as a topper.  The end result was enough shine to make it look really clean, but it retained the original matte look of the era.

Thank you everyone I really appreciate it, I will NOT be using a machine to polish or do any correction. I do have a friend that worked for GM and he has the old magnetic tester for the depth of the paint. I was really excited to find out he had this he mailed it to me and I should have it in a few days, that should tell me what I have to work with!  I love the patina look of the paint and really don't want to lose that, this was my Dad's car that I inherited, she had been stored for about 12 years and sadly just sat, she runs great!! Starts right up and lol 1st and 2nd gear is short lived she seems to love 3rd and cruising at about 40-45, I have no intention of showing her although quite a few have told me I should as most people in my area haven't seen one of these. She is super fun to drive. I will definitely post some more pics of her overall appearance!

I know this has single stage paint, what is the best approach to get her cleaned up? I gave her one wet wash but haven't touched the paint beyond that, she was in storage for 12 years possible longer.  I don't have much experience in detailing classic cars and have never used or applied anything other than paste wax on my current Acura, I use Adams products and love them hoping I can get some guidance here!  Thank you

I know the paint is lacquer I am trying to determine what is the best method to get some shine to her paint, there is cracking on both fenders at the end of the side running boards I want to maintain as much of the original condition as I can, the interior is the original upholstery I believe she really is in great overall condition, runs great with a straight 8,  cruise control, ride regulator (suspension adjustment) and an automatic clutch! Any thoughts, ideas of what to use and what NOT to do would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you its not a clogged filter, the mechanism that opens and shuts has stopped working.

I am going to try another brand, this thing is just out of warrenty  and I used it probably 15-20 times and ran hot water through it every time so not happy about the quality of this product.

I do run water through it after each use, and its the adams foam canon

I have tried to soak it twice it won't unclogg, someone else posted to disassemble it, any idea how to pull that thing apart?

I have a foam canon that is about 16 months old for some reason as soon as I started using the red mega foam my canon is clogged. I called tech support they suggested boiling water with vinegar and soaking it which I have done twice with no success. Any ideas?  And is there another brand that will outlive this one? I think I paid 125 for this thing and used it maybe 24 times (ouch)!

I bought the new red soap sorry I believe its the ultra foam and my foam canon seems to clog with it? Any suggestions? Foam canon is barely a year old.

What model of the E-Go blower are you using?

I have no idea what to use here I have an Acura RDX that has black trim underneath the door frames, I am assuming waxing it probably isn't a good idea but I am at a total loss what to use to protect it?  Thank you in advance!!

No I don't my problem is I only weigh 102 pounds lol and I can't seem to find one that is light enough! I know that is a good method as well and that is what my brother in law uses to blow most of the water off

Oh and I use deionized spotless water for my finish I never physically dry it!

I had a gallon of this and used a foam canon but honestly it seems to work better when I just apply it with a mitt, I spray a thick coat on my RDX and leave it sit for about 5 minutes but honestly the car is still filthy? Wondering if I am missing something? Or if there is a better option for the "soap".  Also what is a good tire cleaner to enhance the rubber?

Received my Sun Joe X3500 relatively easy to put together, lol my hubby says what in the world are you up too?? ha ha he has no idea the foam canon is yet to come! I need to call Sun Joe tech support tomorrow as the pressure would at time almost completely stop and them surge again?? My deionized water was an epic failure I think I washed the car too late 1 hr after finishing I finally dried it! Of course I bought the Microfiber bundle from Adams they sent the wrong drying towel (sigh) so ended up scrambling for towels to dry it (forgot I had bought a waffle weave)! On the Sun Joe where the hose attaches it LEAKS! going to try to buy a washer and see if that works, it is very sturdy although lol between that and the hose I was having a hard time getting around my RDX my driveway is very narrow, I will let you know what Sun Joe has to say! 

This might be a dumb question but can I use a collapsible hose with a pressure washer I have to go 75 ft from my deionized water and really trying to avoid dragging a heavy hose for the length!

lol at the male and female one can only hope! The SPX3500 has a couple of 5 star reviews one that previously owned the 3000 and it died right after the 2 year point. Hoping it is all good lol it will be nice to get these all connected and test the system, driving my hubby nuts I am a fanatic about a clean, scratch less and dent free vehicle☺️ My car has been to the dealers twice for the bumper protector oh my gosh really they can't get it right, dirt underneath I hate them washing my car hoping the 3rd time is the charm!    Do you happen to know if this will connect to the Red Foam Canon (Adam's)? Chat couldn't give me the info it looks like it's a 1/4 inch connection?  I am all for the longer lasting of the pressure washer, btw you can get the spx3000 for 129 on BBB but I opted to purchase the 3500.

Yes they are online only but the $40 plus is enough of a savings to wait for the shipping! Which model is the Canon I can't seem to find a MTM Foam Canon on Adams site?
