A buddy of mine has a new M4 that he had wrapped with I believe an Xpel wrap.  He started saying how he wondered if there was a wax, spray, etc as a topper that would add beading and shine.  

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Although I don’t live in “frigid” NE Ohio, here in NC it can still get cold.

i do not have a heated garage, and all my supplies are currently kept in drawers or on shelves in the garage.

Is this bad form, and do I run the risk of the products going bad when it gets cold?

Went ahead and went over the trim with a touch of VRT, and it looks good again.

I asked this in another thread, but now going back a forth between G&G, CB, or Spray Wax.  Got some decent input and a video that I still need to watch 

The title just about says it alll.

My initial detail had a revive polish, sealant, glaze, and Americana.

After that I’m Looking for something to continue or enhance beading, as well as protect and add shine, etc.

Of the three listed, does one out perform another, is it personal preference, or based on the Final step, is the decision predetermined?

Thank you guys for all the information.  The lower plastic was hit with some VRT on the initial detail.  Wasn’t sure if it was wax from all the rain coming off, VRT, or what.  

The fiance and and I have a moratorium on buying things so not to eliminate Christmas ideas, but G&G is in the perverbial shopping cart.

Granted, you can never have to much supply, so I may go ahead and order anyway!

Would it be counterproductive to put glaze on top of the Americana?

Got the new ride, and spent a few hours or 5 detailing her.  These are the steps I went through:

Rinse

Iron Remover

Wash

Clay

Revive Polish

Paint Sealant (wait one hour before next step)

Brillant Glaze

Americana

Tire shine.

Looked great afterward.  

Here is my problem, the next few days straight here yielded multiple inches of rain (a colleague of mine said we got 6” ).

This is my daily driver and unfortunately for now sits outside so it was exposed to all the elements and rain.  I came out to this the first morning it wasn’t raining.

Was it something I did, or just a byproduct of getting hammered with rain over consecutive days?

I have since cleaned it up with VRT, and it looks good again, but wondering if I need to apply wax again or repeat steps?

Every day I am thankful to be surrounded by my dearest friends and my loving family.  Even the friends and family that are not local, they are a big part of my life.

To my parents whom I am truly honored to be their son.  I am the man I am today because of the values they believe in and the way I was raised.

To my fiancé.  She has made me realize that I can be a father like my dad was for me to my two step children whom I adore.  She’s made me realize I don’t need to be “dad” to be a good father.  It’s a slippery slope when you’re the step-dad, but she and the kids inspire me to be great every day.  Can’t wait to see her and the kids walk down the isle on our wedding day.

my career and the people I work with.  It’s a chaotic time in healthcare, but even among the chaos I love my job.

Everyone gets caught up in the day to day and common stresses of life and it’s easy to overlook the things that make us who we are and to be thankful.

Adams paint sealant, brilliant glaze, revive hand polish, and Americana wax

Are there any wait times after application of products like paint sealant, glaze, hand polish, etc?

got the ride safely home from Ohio, now hopefully the weekend weather will cooperate so I can detail her.

For a black daily driver that is routinely outside for the majority of hours in a day, where the desired look is that high shine, wet paint look, do people lean towards Buttery Wax or a Paste Wax (i.e. Americana)?

It’s. 2019 Chevy Traverse.  Had a 2015 Mercedes CLA 250, but needed more space for family and all my golf crap.

if I wasn’t such a control freak and paranoid it wasn’t going to get done right, I’d let the wife or even my father help, but if a step gets messed up etc, I’d rather it be all my fault.

outside of the “new members” section, this is my first post.

getting a new vehicle and picking it up in Ohio and driving back to NC.

once I’m home, the plan is to detail her.  I don’t have a polisher so this task will all be by hand.

Supplies I have or are to arrive soon:

Shampoo, detail spray, APC, Iron Remover, Clay, Wheel Cleaner, Tire Shine, Glass Cleaner, Revive Polish, Paint Sealant, Brillant Glaze, and Americana Wax.

Vehicle is black and will be my daily driver.

with products I mentioned, I had this as my thoughts for steps.  If there is a better way, I’m all ears.

Wow, typing this makes the task seem daunting!

Another question, is there a wait time for some of these products/steps, or can I go from one step to the next without waiting?

I know this was long winded, but I do appreciate all the help, and advice.

For those that mentioned they are in the NC area, I live in Pinehurst.

I have, as well as ordered more Adams stuff recently in preparation for the new ride.  I will probably make my first “official” post soon as to what to use, in what order, etc etc.  bought everything from APC, to Iron remover, Clay, shampoo, Glaze, Sealant, Americana, Detail spray, glass cleaner, tire shine, and some VRT.  Don’t think I missed anything?  Oh, and some Revive Polish

maybe I don’t need it all, but seemed like a good idea at the time

Hey guys and gals out there!

My name is Tony and I live in the central part of North Carolina.  I’m fairly new to the detailing world.  I guess because I can appreciate a good looking vehicle that is cared for.  Doesn’t have to be an exotic Italian to turn heads.

Having said all of that, beyond a two bucket wash, and a clay bar, I’m a bit lost.  There is so much product available, and so much information available here it’s a bit overwhelming.

Looking at a new vehicle that will be the daily driver and I want to make sure she stays glossy and protected.  I don’t have any machine polishers so everything will be done by hand.

i look forwards to the days, months and years to come, reading, learning, and hopefully some success stories.

if anyone has any detailing regimens/ steps to help achieve what I described on a black vehicle, I’m all ears!
