No, Ceramic Spray Coating is a true coating, and like traditional coating, needs a completely bare surface (or already existing coating) to bond properly. For it to work its best and last the longest, proper steps should be taken.

Oh right forgot about your comment above ( sorry :( ).  I think I will just use spray wax and frequent car wash. I hope Adams spray wax can protect my paint from UV for 2 weeks.

If you're car's out in the weather full time, you should start thinking of something a little more long term like the Ceramic line.  The Ceramic Spray Coating is quick and only needs a day for perfection.  Did mine a year ago and it's still holding up.  Or if you can get to a garage for a couple days, you could go the full on Ceramic route.  Just be sure to properly prepare your paint before applying.

That is the main reason I was thinking of ceramic products. By the way, I am new to a detail world. Is it okay to just wash a car and use spray wax before the ceramic spray coating? Because my car surface is not rough (due to wash every 2-3 weeks). I want a ceramic spray coating to prevent my car from oxidation and yellow headlights. I know it will not happen for at least 6-7 years but my old car had yellow headlights and totally killed the look.

Since you are washing the car every 2-3 weeks, you can use Spray Wax as a drying aid.  It not only reduces the amount product needed, it also makes the application real simple.  It can be used glass, although I personally don't put it on any windshields.

According to the weather, vehicles usage and whether or not it is stored in a garage anything between 3 weeks and 3 months is possible for longevity.

I currently have chemical guy glass cleaner so it is not a big deal (Plan to purchase Adams glass cleaner in future though).

My concern is the weather. I currently can't garage my vehicle and I feel bad when my car is exposed to sunny So-cal sun. I really hope my Adams spray wax can hold the protection for 2-3 weeks. Because I don't like the look of hazed headlights and oxidized paint.

Sure, you can use the Spray Wax as a stand alone, as long as you're aware of its minimal longevity and protection. The product is infused with carnuaba wax, which is in Adam's Buttery, Americana, and Patriot Paste Waxes..

That's perfect! Yes I am aware of minimal longevity and protection.

  5. After I purchased the detail spray, I absolutely felt in love with Adam's product.

So I bought an interior detailer and Adam's spray wax to try more products. I have a question about spray wax. Can Adam's spray wax replace the paste wax? I know spray wax will only last for 2-3 weeks. That is not a huge issue because I wash my car every 2-3 weeks. But I heard that spray wax is just an enhancer of the paste wax. Is that mean I have to put paste wax first to use a spray wax? Or just use spray wax more often? I didn't put any paste wax on my car (only a 4 months old vehicle). And I am planning to use Adam's spray wax to protect my car from oxidation and hazing headlights. And I might purchase a ceramic boost in the future for more protection.

I've used the Spray On Wax from Griot's. Not bad stuff, but I found it streaks some on glass. Adam's Spray Wax doesn't seem to streak like the Griot's product, and both can be used as a drying agent. Using the Adam's Detail Spray as a drying agent, then following up with the Griot's Spray On Wax is over kill, adds time to your car wash, and doesn't add much of anything to your cars gloss. Use up the Griot's and give Adam's Spray Wax a try, you won't be disappointed!

I agree with you. Griots Spray wax left more streaks than Adams detail spray does. I have a question. Since griots spray wax can use as a drying agent, can I just use Adams spray wax as drying agent + protection? Because I am planning to buy Adam's spray wax after I used all of my Adams detail spray.

Welcome, Bonmoo!  You've got a great community here that I'm sure will be able to help you take care of your new ride!  I don't detail cars professionally, but I have heard that you cannot even take Teslas to automatic car washes, so you are making a wise move taking care of the cleaning it yourself.  Plus, you know what they say...  If you want it done right, do it yourself!  I'm sure you'll be quite happy with the results using Adam's Products!

Thank you BG! Yes! Automatic car wash will ruin the Tesla's soft paint. I dried my car with Adams DS yesterday and it was the most satisfied car wash :).

Im in agreement with @Rich  ...i do use the DS slightly differently when drying...i quickly dry my car using a blower then take a dry MF, using a few sprays per panel dry the car completely. I fold the towel

in way to have 8 dry sides and usually dry the car streak free with one MF. (Either gray borderless or single soft)

I will plan to purchase blower in future. Thank you for your tip!

In answer to your question,  if you just washed your car and want to use the Detail Spray as a drying agent, that's great. Your car should be wet already, just spray the DS onto the car and wipe. Your towel will be wet in no time, so no need to dampen it.  As for the Griots Spray Wax, I've never used it, but I can't imagine that it will hurt a thing.  You may have some streaking from combining two different company's chemicals,  but it could also work just fine.  Go for it.

Perfect will do for the next wash. Thank you Rich! And do you think it is okay to use DS as a dusting agent as well? I feel like remove dust with only dried microfiber will scratch the paint.

  10. I just bought an Adams polish detail spray to use as a drying agent for my paint. I have a question and concern. Do I have to dampen my microfiber towel when I using the detail spray as a drying agent? And I heard that Adams detail spray protects the paint but not as spray-on wax. I do own a spray-on wax but it's from Griots. I am planning to buy an Adams spray on wax but not until I used all my griots spray-on wax. Is it okay to use Adams detail spray first to dry off the paint and use griots spray on wax to shine the car?  I don't think it will hurt the paint but I just wanted to make sure. Thank you for kind responses in advance :).

Welcome Bonmoo.  That a cool looking SUV, but all the detailers I talk too say Tesla has horrible paint.  Best thing is to learn how to wash and maintain it properly so it stays swirl-free.

Thank you! It is the best SUV I have ever owned. And that is true. Tesla paint is well-known for poor paint job. And thank you for the warm welcome :)
