Had the pleasure of detailing a buddy's Imapala today. The paint was pretty abused when I got it so this is no show vehicle. But after I finished it looked pretty good. Here are some pictures:
Sorry for the 3rd pic being blurry, but it showed the shine very well.
The steps I took were
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Shr on Orange Pad at 5000 opm
4. FMP on White Pat at 5000 opm
5. 2 Coats of buttery wax
6. BSG on rims and Paint
7. VRT on tires
8. GWC on dirty *** exhaust tips
9. Metal POlish on tips
10. BSG on tips to finish it off.
All great advice. Usually, when i go to a show in my magnetic grey G8, i apply butter wax the night before and when i arrive to the show, i apply the brilliant spray glaze. I have gotten countless compliments when i follow this procedure.
So I was wondering whats the deal on foam applicator pads. I know the americana comes with one and obviously it won't scratch the paint since it was released. Do you guys recommend them? See any problems with them? Any particular brand you guys use if you do recommend them?
Thanks in advance...
