  1. So, I've been shopping around for insurance for a detailing business. I've called one of my insurances, State Farm, and my bank, USAA. Both state they offer nothing for businesses like this. The only type of insurance they offer is more like a physical human damage and tool damage. They offer protection for things such as me hurting myself, someone tripping on my tools, or my tools being stolen or damaged. Neither offer protection for such things as: causing damage to a client car, burning paint, denting, damage from chemicals, etc. Where are you all finding this type of insurance?
  2. I need some inspiration! Show me some of your favorite auto detailing company logos! Ones you have said "WOW, that is an AWESOME logo!" Other companies can be permitted, but I am specifically looking for inspiration surrounding auto detailing.....
  3. Understood. Thank you for the explanation, sir!
  4. The past history when looking up content someone has posted or yourself seems to be limited to 1 year. This really sucks that there is no quick way for me to look over every topic I've started. I would really suggest this be extended to the "beginning of time."
  5. Just making sure that since the changes, this has been upgrade. I remember trying to do write-ups in the past here and having to make 6 posts for one write-up. I was hosting the pics on other sites, but putting 20pics per post with a little explanation was maxing out the characters.
  6. You should allow more characters per post then, please!
  7. Also why you have a proper mechanic around. A good mechanic would know that dyno doesn't sound right from the start. Also, where are the fans?
  8. You should be able to change settings just for a certain forum. Can we have it so the detailer write up section allows somewhere like 50 pictures per post? Would be much better than having to make 6 posts when doing a detailed write-up.
  9. Even if they did, it's worth it. VBulletin security and CP controls are well beyond the average. I have always run my forums on VB and will never change.
  10. I recommend having scroll text on topics. For example, you scroll your mouse over the topic title and it shows some of the text in that thread. For a better example, check out www.ls2gto.com, they have it enabled there.
  11. That sounds like a really crappy datacenter. haha.
  12. Total Time: 2 hours? GOOD LUCK! hahaha
  13. haha, your signature must be one of the quick small ones. I can't figure out which one is you! Speaking of which, I think I'll coat it in a nice layer of Americana!
  14. So when I ordered my first ever mystery box, I asked for a signed box by the Adam's team, like a baseball. Well they put in an ACTUAL baseball signed by the team! w00t. I will be keeping this in good condition for display once I get a home and a neatly organized detail area! Thanks Adam's team!! Even got Adam's signature on it!
  15. The drinking the detail spray was by far the funniest addition and thing ever!
  16. oh yes, this drove me nuts when I read that part. I was like "ok he learned his lesson" while reading and then I got to the part and was like 'NO NO NO NO NO NO." I made a comment about not doing that. w00t good to see another Redditor/Adam's junkie using our detailing sub!
  17. Used an ice scraper to scrape ice off trunk and hood. How do I get rid of the residual "streaks"? : AutoDetailing I'll just post the direct link as the comments are also hilarious.
  18. I probably like it more because I like to see cars I can most likely afford one day, haha.
  19. I beg to differ. Mecum Auto Auction is a great watch.
  20. Oon top of everything Chase (camaro2ssblack) said, I would change a few things: - Make your pricing and your overall services page be a little more formatted. The prices need to stand out separate from everything else. Check out the shop I go to during the winter - Chicago Top Hand Car Wash | Simon's Shine Shop - I've always loved their site and their services page is very nicely formatted and very quick and easy to read and understand. - Put tabs before each paragraph begins on your home page...or center it all. - I would change anything that says "my" such as "Overview of the engine bay on my '06 SRT." to just say "a." I say to do this because you want to make it look like you haven't just done cars you've owned and nothing else. Keep away from saying pronouns on a business site. - You have "Creating flawless paint finishes for the serious enthusiast" on one page and then ""Where passion and perfection come together" on another. Which one is your motto? You should put your motto on the main page and not make it look like you have more than one motto. - On your main page "All plastic & rubber exterior surfaces treated & protected with Adam's SVRT" - you should put that that is a 50/50 shot. I centered my eye on the part that was not covered and the part around the clip that is not covered and was like "wtf there isn't any SVRT on there." Everything else is really good, your site looks ****ing awesome. I like how you showcase some cars and agree on showcasing each different package you offer as Chase said.
  21. I think it's absolutely hideous. I don't like older Corvettes and it looks like I won't like new ones either. I'll stick with the C6 and ZR1 now being the only vettes I like in history. I don't think the highest, big pappa daddy should be taking looks from the child. The Camaro should take features of the Vette, the Vette should not be taking features of the Camaro. They are doing it backwards. Not only that but it just looks like a child from the orgy of a Ferrari, Corvette, Viper, and Camaro. Pick your own look and stop trying to mimic others. That is what stands out. The whole back end looks hideous. I would not drive this thing. ZR1 still best Corvette ever made hands down.
  22. This is what he uses to mix with his soap/water to add a nice shine. Murphy Wood Floor Cleaner - Concentrated - 2 Bottles (32 oz ea)*|*Meijer.com Can anyone tell me if this removes wax or know more about the science behind it? It does say cars, but I highly doubt it means the paint.
