matts88yj reacted to Team Adam's in Fire Hose Nozzle 'Self Adjust' Fix
There had been in the past some complaints of the Ultimate Fire Hose Nozzle self adjusting or not holding a spray pattern and thanks to our forum members we were able to isolate the problem and solve it. The manufacture has been told about the reports and has adjusted their practices, but just in case you find your nozzle doesn't hold its pattern there is a very simple and quick fix.

    TOOLS NEEDED:
    (1) Flat Head Screwdriver
    (1) Deep 3/8" Socket & Driver
    (1) Shop Rag

    STEP 1:
Locate the flat head screw at the center of the nozzle face and the small nut that is inside the nozzle when you look at the back. Using the screwdriver to hold the center shaft, loosen the nut inside the nozzle and remove it. The center shaft screw and spacer should slide easily out of the top of the nozzle.

    STEP 2:
Grasping the 2 halves of the nozzle body turn them until they unscrew from each other. Be careful as the lower half will be covered in a grease from the factory and might be slippery. There might also be some water trapped inside from previous uses.

    STEP 3:
Using a rag or shop towel wipe the excess grease from the around the threads of both sides. Be careful not to clean too much of the grease as it may cause the threads to bind during use. Make sure not to unseat the rubber O-ring either.

    STEP 4:
Reattach the two halves of the nozzle body together and insert the bolt and spacer into top half of the nozzle and reattach the nut from the inside. It may be necessary to use a shallow 3/8" socket to hold the nut to start threading, then switch to the deep socket to tighten the rest of the way.

Just use soap and water when cleaning ceramic rotors. I did a ZR1 last year that was improperly cleaned with some harsh wheel cleaner by the prior detailer after taking purchase. Over time the rotors improved some what. When it was my turned I stayed away from anything but Adam's Car Shampoo mixed with some water and a spray bottle. Then used a boars hair wheel brush and wheel woolies to gently remove and grime on the wheels and calipers.

I've had the chance to wear my Grey Obsessed shirt twice now.  They run about on par with the Large that Lucky 13 or KIK Sells, size wise.  I love the weight.  Any heavier, and I would not detail in it.

Luckily we were there to help! A little 4" Focus love with the new Adam's PCP got them back to better.

Here's a couple thoughts to keep in mind when choosing a wheel cleaner from our lineup for you...

    1. Do you have Ceramic Brake pads? (Regardless of the material on the surface of the wheel, this is most important to determine which route to go.). If so, nothing more aggressive than Adam's Green Wheel is needed.

    2. What type of car? (Euro, imports, and sports cars tend to have more carbon dust than grease.). This is where Adam's DWC is in it's Wheelhouse... Mind you watch the rotors in some cases.)

    3. What type of finish is on the wheel? Paint? Clear Coat? Chrome? Powder? A lot of times, especially with Painted and Chrome Wheels, nothing more than Adam's Car Shampoo is needed.

From those three, you should be able to deduce which is your route. Never treat all 4 wheels at once. Move station to station, wheel well, tire, wheel...then move on. MAKE SURE to use Adam's Quick Sealant as protection on the barrels and faces. This helps keep the washing easier. Once you have that straight, and good protection down, you may find using Adam's DWC only happens once every three washes...and simply using Car Shampoo or GWC is the better option due to the Quick Sealant. Every car is different. Think it out, watch the videos, and read the labels!

We are in the final stages of approval for these.  What's the mean to the End User?  You could see this as soon as the end of the month, or you could see this as soon as the end of the year!  We have a lot that goes into a New Product.  Lots more than simply identifying then testing it out.  Labels, presentation, videos, etc...all that has to happen first.

Stay patient, and I am sure you will be happy!
