  1. Many years ago there was discussion whether "Revive Polish" was a polish or sealant. Do we know?

I clayed and washed the Vette. Then put on Revive (GREAT RESULTS).. Plan is to now apply Buttery Wax and then Glaze. Effort is to get a lot of POP.

Vette is 2016 shark gray metallic with only 4000 miles. I bought 2 months ago with 2000 miles.   Thank you for the great article !

  2. I knew I should go back to tried and true basics. Just needed  to be reminded. Will order the new Visco clay with geo tool as this sounds easier than what use to use. Will experiment on the silver car first, then do the Vette. Any suggestions for applications after clay?....have revive, buttery wax and brilliant glaze. I do hand polishing only.

    Thank you

  3. Last C6 Corvette was Metallic Sunset Orange which I really got to "POP" with revive and Buttery Wax. This C7 Corvette is Metallic Shark Gray with very few miles. I have washed 3 times and surface feels extremely smooth. After washing  today decided to wax.  Used Buttery wax on roof only. Result was that the shine IMO may have been a little less when finished (doubt most people would notice). However, it definitely did not increase the shine. Read a few articles on internet. A few recommended polish before wax which is what I did on previous car most, but not all the time. What is your recommendation for Metallic Paint?

My neighbor used a ceramic coating on his car. However, he botched it on one area. More recently he applied to another car which was a success.  At the moment my preference is to find what works hands on rather than a coating applied once that you merely hose off when dirty.

I also have a Kia Soul, shiney silver which is metallic. I used Buttery wax followed by Brilliant Glaze a week later which seemed to work well. Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Thank you

  4. Has anyone in the N California Bay Area used this? I would like to see results...As mentioned I am only in need of a product for the trim below the windows on a Corvette.

Not being dubious but I have tried a lot of products that were advertised as the best, with no good results.

    Perhaps before and after photos?

    Thank you

  5. Does trim coating work on window trim? I have all trim handled except have yet to find anything that achieves good results on Corvette window trim below the windows. Has anyone used this? Before and after photos would be helpful.....Also something for weather stripping.

I know I can return but don't want to waste an expensive can of this.

    Thank you

  6. Haven't been on forum for awhile. Used last drop of Adams Shampoo Saturday. Went to order more plus a few items. Everything is different....The Shampoo is now blue.... Of course I've changed too. Due to occasional sore back the only vehicle I now wash is the Vette. The others go to a hand carwash. The logic being if I gave up golf the sore back would go away, but then with washing all the other cars the sore back would return. Thus this system makes sense to me.

Back to the issue at hand. In addition to the Shampoo I wanted the red and blue polish applicators. You only have the blue. You use to have the same in red plus a different shape ( like a flying saucer) in black. There was also a large variety of microfibers including white with a black border, and a blue one with no edging. You also had a rejuvenator for the microfibers and great white drying towel. I have a large assortment  of microfibers and great whites and a half a jug of the rejuvenating juice. Also a lot of 8 oz Adams polish containers most half full, a half gallon of detail spray, green wheel cleaner, glass cleaner, all purpose cleaner and BrilIiant Glaze ( which you still sell...Great !). I am ,however, out of the carpet cleaner and didn't see it on the site.

I am by no means complaining. Being an Adams customer since 2008 has been a very positive experience. I just need to refigure what I need. The "Blue" Shampoo is easy. Perhaps someone could read between the above lines and give some advise.

    Thank you

  7. I am a proponent of the Brilliant Glaze.  It definitely gives the pop I want. And yes, it will be nice not to be OCD about black anymore.

I am presently ordering a few "new" items from Adams. Not picking the Vette up until just before Christmas and want to wash and shine with fresh stuff.....There I go ....OCD 'ing already. Its a desease

  8. I have used Adam's products for many years. Just sold C6 Vette with 152000 miles. Inspite of being black this Vette truly looked great. Replacing it with Sunset Orange C6. Does anyone on forum have experience with this color? It is a metallic paint.

    Hand polish only.

    Thank you

  9. Interesting that this topic comes up. I have been a member for 8 years and still have a lot of the original chemicals that I initially purchased.  I recently decided to replace some as noticed a few idiocincracies. Overall the liquids have held up very well, The microfibers and drying towels have periodically had to be replaced.

I have been extremely pleased with the results and longevity of the Adam's products... Specifically the revive polish, swirl and haze remover, buttery wax, Americana, green wheel cleaner, brilliant glaze and all purpose cleaner have lasted very well. The longevity of the detail spray has been lacking but not bad. I cannot attest to the Adam's shampoo as although I regularly purchase this a gallon at a time I wash my 4 cars on a regular basis meaning one gallon doesn't last long due to useage (not longevity). While I believe the Americana has good longevity I have not applied this in several years as it tends to be cloudy when layered. I use 100% Adams products except for the top coat. However, I use the Brilliant Glaze over the brand x top coat. ( sometimes beneath it).

I am 100% sold on Adams Polish products. Even though I believe the 8 year old Adams products are at their productive limits, I am donating my "used" Adams products to my son for use on his boat. I am sure they will result in a positive difference !!.......Unfortunately I will likely be me doing the rub, rub, wipe, wipe,  motion on the boat !!

  10. ........ . Nothing is applied "over" Revive since Revive doesn't leave or add anything to the paint surface. After using Revive you have effectively removed the sealants and waxes and have clean paint ready to apply your choice of sealant or wax.

Is this correct??..... Revive is one of my go to favorites. I certainly notice a shiney and improved surface resultant with revive. It also fills in impurities, cleans and leaves me with a nice shiney surface from which to proceed. However, do not believe it disappears leaving bare paint. Rather it is a good foundation.

    Dylan.....can you clarify? Thank you

  11. Lyn gave me a car cover for Christmas. It is designed for indoor protection which is what I will use it for ( use to use sheets to defend against dust in garage to reduce amount of washes needed on Black Vette). Noticed instructions state do not cover a wet vehicle. Here is the situation.......

Wahed Vette starting around 2 pm. After washed decided to put on Brilliant Glaze followed by wax. Put on Brilliant Glaze but felt not enough time left to wax ( it is dark around 5 p m). Put Vette in garage and placed new cover thereon (first time used). Instructions state cover is designed to avoid moisture damage to vehicle.....beathable to allow escape of evaporating moisture and heat. But then says to not cover a wet vehicle. I do not consider vehicle to be wet, however, there is no doubt there is some residual moisture from the wash. Will this plus the application of Brilliant Glaze immediately prior to placing the cover be likely to cause a problem??

Its terrible to be OCD about this....afterall it is just a car !!?? :willy:

edit...The temperature at washing and glazing was around 48 degrees.

Vette is in garage. Tonight temp will drop to 40 degrees. Tomorrow will be 55 degrees.

  12. I do all my cars by hand.........no machines. I use the Buttery Wax quite a bit and actually prefered the LOOK of my car after using it compared to the Americana when I had my black Vette. I haven't had the white one long enough to really compare yet, but the Buttery Wax and Brilliant Glaze will always be two of my faves.

I agree  Another consideration is that layering Americana will often result in the finish being cloudy looking. Sure you can then add another layer but in a few days it clouds again meaning you then need to strip and start over. IMO using revive, buttery and brilliant glaze results in a much better "POP" and shine and has never clouded on the black Vette, grey Lexus, grey green RX7 or cherry black RX7 !!!
