  1. Thanks for this, had never heard of the difference between the Dawns.
  2. Yep, drive your car, enjoy the trip. If I let my car OCD take over we'd never go anywhere.
  3. They do work great on the dash and instruments though.
  4. hahaha! I've given rentals the wash/clay/wax treatment before, but never done a full detail! When I did that to the rental, my wife just shook her head.
  5. I pretty much only break out the pressure washer when my car is FILTHY. That doesn't happen a lot. If I was detailing as a job, I would foam every car, but for me, that's kind of a luxury step. Probably like most on here, my car gets washed a lot...it's generally still "clean" when I wash it, and it always has a nice coat of wax. In that situation, foaming the car (IMO) is unnecessary, as the pre-wash rinse, combined with a good wash mitt and soap will float the dirt off nicely. Also, my water pressure is pretty bad, so the extra spray and power is nice when I use the pressure washer.
  6. Oh trust me, I would love to have one of those, but my horrendous water pressure wouldn't stand up to 3000 psi.
  7. I guess it's not exactly the same thing , but on the extremely rare occasion that I use it, it does the job. It blasts a thick layer of foamy soap all over my car.
  8. Same here. Mine is just a little fella with 1400 psi. I can't imagine needing more power than that to clean a car. Makes plenty of foam with the cannon, too.
  9. Yep. For a whole lot of people, a car like like an appliance. It fills a need, gets them from place to place. They bought it based on MPG ratings, rarely wash it, and probably never removed the dealer plate frames and decals. We are not like them. They are "other."
  10. I got mine at Home Depot for like $20. I don't use it a whole lot though, it's more trouble than it's worth to hook it all up just to spray soap foam on the car.
  11. Great white drying towel + detail spray is all you need. Metro vac would be great, too, for those dang mirrors *shakefist*.
