Been away from adams and detailing for a while. I just got back into detailing recently from a two year rest.
Did a quick search. So if i get the 4 3/8" backing plate for the flex 3401, i can use the new 5.5" polishing pads with the flex? I dont want to get another polisher, as i am keeping the flex and 4" pads on my PC.
Thanks in advance.

not sure on the 'proper' ratio, but I use 3-4 pumps of car shampoo with the pump dispenser with mine. put warm water in first and then the shampoo...

I am going to add my two cents here too. I joined the forums a few years ago, knowing 'squat' about detailing. I always liked a clean, shiny car. I learned A TON of information here on this forum - not only because of Dylan or any of the other - @ adams - but because this forum gave ME the answers I was looking for. It wasn't the answer from one person, but the information gathered collectively from everyone.
I am sad to see Dylan and others move on? Yes, but there will be other people that step up and fill in those shoes. It will take time, but it will happen...
thanks,
tom

just curious if the professional shop-vac is discontinued? I did not see it on the website.

Jose is back at work (on VERY light duty) and now taking medication to prevent any future problems. Turns out he has a fairly rare blood disorder that results in clots in various organs, including his kidneys and lungs. We are very happy to have our boy back!
that's good to hear

I spend more time on my cars than I do with my wife:help:

warm water + 2 - 3 pumps from the gallon pump adam's offers.

since I have applied svrt on my door panels and adam's leather conditioner on my dash, should I remove both with adam's leather and interior cleaner first, or will the new interior detailer work to remove?

Nothing better then using wheel woolies unless you can get someone else to clean the wheels for you. Of course then it's a toss up!
thats ok, i'd rather clean them myself

...used them for the first time today. that is all

so there was something hidden under the engine cover
nice upgrade!

I just did my car today with my foam cannon. I can't go without using it now. I do the rims and tires first with GWC and APC. Then I use the cannon with shampoo and ww. Let it dwell for a few mins then rinse with the pressure washer and clean water. Then use the cannon again and foam it up. Then use the two bucket wash and just hose it down with the fire nozzle. I use a merino for the top half and jumbo for the bottom. Blow the car off using a generic type if electric blower and then mist the car with DS. Dry it off with the GWDT.
tony, i feel the exact same way. that foam cannon is a freaking beast!! i think it actually saved me some time, even though it was my first time using it. i did the same thing you did:
wheels and tires first
foam car and let it set a few minutes
rinse off foam
foam again
2 bucket wash
rinse

congrats on the purchase:rockon:

***UPDATE***
since the weather finally broke into the upper-30's today with sunshine, i tried out my new pressure washer and foam cannon.
one words pretty much sums them up....awesome!!
the pressure washer has more than enough power to do what i want with it. it assembled easy, i added the engine oil to it, and it started after 2 pulls.
i also splurged with quick-connects for the garden hose, PW pump to the PW hose, PW hose to the gun, and quick-connects for the lance/foam cannon (for ease of swapping them out while washing).
the foam cannon, well, i had a grin from ear to ear while using it!!

looks like the car caught the chicken pox.

anthony, thats a big ole' smile on your face in the first pic !

well, i ended up getting a craftsman 2600psi, 2.3gpm Honda-powered unit. seems to be built pretty well built. it has a factory 2 year warranty, and special financing with 12 months to pay it off. not too bad.
i also ordered the MTM Hydro foam cannon online and it should be here next week. can't do much washing here for a while, its going to be cold for the next week.
i'll post results of both (mostly the pressure washer-theres a ton of info/reviews for the cannon) when the weather cooperates.

Eric, are you AWD? I'm wondering if the previous owner of mine had a front cv boot tear at some point? Little bit of grease mixed with some dirt and brake dust, add in some heat from the brakes and thats where my "staining" came from?
that could be it...
