  1. Oh my gosh Rich, you have a dirty WW? Just kidding. If you use the blot method of absorbing water after washing (and you should) the WW is far superior than anything else I've tried. My car is small but I can blot the entire car with only one WW. Never tried to dry with microfiber. I can't imagine it works better than WW. I know it sounds silly to just put the towel on and lift it off but it works great and prevents swirls even if the towel picked up something scratchy. Les
  2. I've never seen Royal Purple where I live. I use Mobil 1 currently. I am considering using the Mobil 1 for Diesels for its superior lubrication properties. Les
  3. I just used the new Professional Wash Pad. All I can say is, you've got to get one to believe how soft it is, how much soap and water it holds and how it reaches places other pads cant. It makes me wonder what else I'm missing. Another order coming soon Adam. Les
  4. When I think back to the things I used trying to get the grit off the car. I tried cleaners, bug and tar remover, WD40, Coca Cola, finger nails, polish and more polish and a few things I've forgotten. Clay is natures gift to safe, clean, paint fanatics. Les
  5. I need an apron too. It would make life easier. Les
  6. I used to get the contaminates off with lots of sweat and polish. It can be done. But think of what that hardened stuff does when it lets go of the paint. You risk grinding it in if it doesn't dissolve. I would rather do a quick clay first. It makes the polish faster and easier on just about any condition vehicle. Les
  7. The cheap microfiber towels I have are fine for the interior and cleaning the glass. The old detail spray is for claying. The glaze, polish, wax etc. is in limbo. I don't know what I'll eventually do with them. I approve of the idea of giving them away to the less demanding. But this thread has me thinking about making a gift to someone. Perhaps the guy that asks for money at the stoplight ...... nah. Seems cruel to make someone happy getting inferior car care products. Les
  8. No Vette here. My older brother has wrecked enough of them for the whole family. Crossfire SRT-6 and 2005 300c .... and 1999 Intrepid, but you won't see pics of the 99. It's used in the battle zone. It has 3 colors in all, factory green, wall white and column yellow. Les
  9. Here's another one. Too bad I can't make it bigger. And Adam, I'm very happy. But next time it will turn out even better. There's nothing like experience. Les
  10. Not the most impressive I have but its small enough to upload. Les
  11. If I could figure out how to post a large pic I would!
  12. Here are the results of my 2nd try. How did I do?
  13. estecoca: You must have done exactly like me the first time I used the portercable. Not enough product on the pad and working it too long or too slow. When I got it right with the results I wanted I had put 4 lines of polish from the center almost to the edge of the pad. Don't work the polish until it's dry. (I did and --- dandruff) When the polish starts looking sort of clear but still wet, your done. Also work a smaller area at a time. I originally did a 2-1/2 by 2-1/2 area moving an inch a second. An 18" to 2' area at a time works better moving faster at about 3 to 4 inches a second. I'm not an expert yet, but I got good results and no dandruff the 2nd time around. Good luck. Les
  14. History first. Bought the car (2006 model) in june 08 brand new with 60 miles and 2 years in the sun. First wash and wax using competing brand left me disappointed. Next I ordered Adams and used the fine machine polish with the white pad and machine wax with the black pad and little pressure. Undeniable improvement but not good enough for me. This last detail I mixed the swirl and haze with the FMP on the orange pad followed by working smaller sections at a time with more pressure, perhaps 20lbs. Next the machine wax with the black pad. Now I'm happy but know it has more shine in it. (I know I should have followed the orange pad with the white and FMP but my hands and back had had enough.) So now I have the BSG on order (as well as a few other goodies) I'm still finding out what works best on this German ceramic clear coat. When I do I hope to contend in the photo contest. So, your saying I should try the Revive Polish too? Dang, another order. And my current order is still in transit. Les
  15. What I'm really working on is a shine like yours C6Bill. I'm getting closer to figuring out the best combination of pads, polishing and speeds on the Porter Cable with my paint. I never knew how different the paint on one car could be from another. I'm also trying to figure out how to get a good pic uploaded. If I upload a jpeg it looks terrible after shrinking it to fit. Les
