  1. Threw another coat of glaze/americana on the bike tonight. Looked so good I had to ride out and take some pics. Ever try riding a bike with a tripod? LOL
  2. Bleh, guess it's a cool concept but poorly put together with crap parts. Oh well, guess It's getting cancelled and I'll have to get a goodyear one. Thanks guys.
  3. Has anyone tried one of those new X Hoses? The hose I currently have is a piece of crap regular one, always kinking and stuff. I saw the commercial for this thing and did a little research. It looks pretty legit, I just ordered 2 50' ones from them. I don't know what kind of one man operation they got going on but they said allow 2-6 WEEKS just for PROCESSING then they'll ship it out. Does anyone here already have one? The engineers at Adam's should have come up with this first!
  4. At this point if it were me I would strip wash, then alcohol wipedown, clay again which should be fast since you already did it, then alcohol wipedown. If that doesn't get anything off the paint nothing will haha. Then I would pick a small area that's messed up and start with Orange then white. See where that gets me and determine from there to either do a couple more whites or another orange/white.
  5. I can't really find any specifics about what this crap is. Hopefully somebody here knows more about it. I'm really wondering what the hell they put on your paint lol. I wouldn't imagine a regular sealant would be so hard to take off. Especially after a strip wash/clay/polish. You'd think even one pass of the green would take off any sealant. Did they pour liquid acrylic over your paint lol? Best thing I found on it: Teflon® is useless in auto wax products. Not just my opinion but that of Dupont's chemists as well. Quote: The addition of a Teflon® fluoropolymer does nothing to enhance the properties of any car wax, we have no data that indicates the use of Teflon® to be beneficial in car waxes. Teflon® requires a temperature of 680°F for it to bond to a surface. Heating your paint to 680°F would vaporize it.
  6. Hmm, it might be that DuPont coating. They tried to sell me on that when I bought my mustang. Apparently it's a teflon based coating that is supposed to last years. Maybe it's just extremely difficult to remove. I'm gonna try and look it up more.
  7. Did you finish the polish or is that just with 2 passes of green? The green isn't going to take out swirls and go to perfect. I would follow those areas with orange/white and see if it clears up. This is why they recommend that you do a full process on a small area so you can tell the end result.
  8. Did you start with the orange? My stang came swirled as hell from the dealer and so did my buddies PW Boss. I did two really good passes with orange and it's still not near perfect. You might have to use green, that's what I'm doing next.
  9. All this talk about wiping in between with DW because it has no solvents. Will putting a layer of Americana on and then buff it off with detail spray take off some of the wax? Should you always buff it off dry and then detail? If it won't take the wax off, I would think the detail spray would give you a better shine maybe right? Maybe put a couple 16oz Detail spray bottles in an ice cooler and try a variation.
  10. You went to college for shining boots? No wonder you're a detail nut!
  11. I changed the oil in the mustang and had it all over my hands. Sprayed All Purpose Cleaner on them and wiped it off with a shop rag and my hands were good as new. No oily residue either. Worked like a charm.
  12. Man I love this detail spray. At first I thought it was really for just cleaning off dust and light dirt but it actually really brings out shine. It's been several washes now since I put my glaze/Americana on and it almost looked like I was gonna redo it. Today the car was pretty clean, just light dust on it, so I went over the whole car with the detail spray. Man! I really brings that shine back out from the Americana. Definitely going to have to order more of this stuff haha. Pics from tonight.
  13. Mmm, looks like a nice stash there. Add some glaze and Americana and you'll have yourself some good face melt.
  14. So after changing the oil today in the mustang, I had to swing by my buddies place and drop off some stuff. His driveway is lined with about 12" high of decorative bricks. You can guess where this is going. I didn't realize I was so close to them and opened my drivers door right into that crap. Put this right on the bottom of my door. On a lighter note, at least the car is still beading like a pro.
  15. Forgot to update this after the glaze/wax. I washed it this morning since it got a little greasy when I put new headers on yesterday. This is glaze/americana now. It's been washed twice too. I have some residue on the black plastic I still need to get off, but she's looking ok.
  16. That's probably the cleanest most non-rice cavalier I've ever seen. Props man. I definitely see you beating SRT8's and probably some '12 and below GT500's especially with the new build.
  17. Got my PC kit in the other day so I could finally really start detailing my vehicles. I started on my bike last night since it's so small and was in decent shape. Did orange-white-black then let it sit over night. Then in between doing the car today I put on a glaze coat and then americana. Haven't bolted the fairings back on or put the blinkers on yet. But she's looking pretty good! The car was a much bigger project. When I got it, the dealer had already RAPED it. The swirls are TERRIBLE on this thing. Doesn't surprise me since I saw the guy at the dealer cleaning new cars with a SPONGE! It's really hard to photograph swirls on this color, it has no metal flake, it's just kinda a flat pastel. I started this morning at like 7am and just got done. Stripped it with dawn, clayed it again(I clayed it right after I got it) and then started with the orange polish. I did the hood twice with orange and then white and it's still not perfect. I didn't buy the green polish, but I think I'm gonna need it to get these level of swirls and scratches out. Because of that I ended up only doing the hood and roof with orange/white. Then I just put a coat of machine super sealant on the whole car. I figure when I get the green stuff, I will just strip one panel at a time and start correcting. The sealant should protect it for now. There's currently no wax on it, gonna do the glaze/americana tomorrow. Hard to see any swirls, but this is before I corrected on the roof and top of the door. This is after the orange and white It's better but still not perfect. Didn't even have time to clean wheels or anything lol. Gonna do that tonight when sun goes down. Sorry for the long post. I'm still trying to get my technique down, hopefully it'll get easier with time lol.
  18. I just bought the one from auto geek, quart foam master. Unfortunately I haven't tried it yet, won't arrive until tomorrow. It looks to be good, maybe someone else can weigh in.
  19. Hello everyone. I've been following Adam's stuff for a while now and have mooched some off of my friend I finally took the plunge and ordered the starter PC kit with Orange/White/Black and then got the Premium shine kit with Americana and Brilliant Glaze in it. I already have a lot of nice Griots towels and other detail spray and stuff so this kit should pan out nicely for me. I can't wait to strip the vehicles and perfect the paint! Oh, I have a 2012 Mustang GT, a 2012 Explorer Limited, and my little bike, a Ninja 250R.
