  1. Compare DWC against APC and GWC

That's a good topic for a write up.

I don't have wheels that get that dirty or I'd do it.

Lets Pin Adams products against themselves.

IMO it's kind of hard to get accurate results for that. By no means am I an expert on this but from what I've gathered they all have different purposes. DWC specifically targets the metallic particles in brake dust, with the harshest yet safest method. It's also a gel type of cleaner that is made to dwell in one place while it works.

Green wheel cleaner from my understanding is a much more safer alternative to DWC if you don't need to remove a ton of brake dust. It's also much safer for those of us who clay and QS our wheels to make cleaning easier.

And APC targets different substances like grease but not specifically made to target metallics for deep cleaning.

They all have their different functions. I guess another way to put it would be saying "compare bg to mss". Both are great products but do different things.

  2. How many of you take the wheels off the car to clean the barrels? I know you can use wheel woolies and move the car to get at the areas blocked by the calipers, but with my Coupe wheels I am considering taking them off to get them "perfect" (even if I can see it).

If you do take them off, how often?

    Happy detailing,

    [m]

Have you used the DWC yet? I used it and pretty much got my wheels perfect without even having to remove them.

  3. Thanks for the info. I have been thinking about getting one of these. I have a 36 ft. 5th wheel that I think these would make things much easier to clean. I have tried all kinds of soap and can't ever find anything that foams up good, I haven't tried Adams soap yet, but I think this foam cannon might be the answer. Thanks again for you info.

qu4a3u3e.jpg the Adams shampoo and foam cannon combo here. Thick foam like shaving cream.

  4. How do you apply it ? Does it really help the brake dust to not stick so much ? I can't drive my car 60 miles before they are full of brake dust.

Quick sealant is sprayed on from the can, then you use the blue/red applicator pad to level it out. It's not going to keep all the dust off your rims, but it will make cleaning them easier. You should also invest in wheel woollies and/or a turbo stick to clean the rim area behind the face. Lots of dust accumulates there and it can eventually just build up and spread into the face.

  5. Do you guys use Adams car soap with this or do you have to get another kind to use and if you can use Adams how much soap do you put in the bottle.

Adams of course. I use one pump from my gallon bottle with the pump sprayer and the rest is water. Just make sure you put the water in first then the shampoo. I think that translates to like 4oz of shampoo, but I'm not sure. You can add a little ww in there too!

  6. I have a Camaro and is horrible Don't know if its dust or metal. Will try dwc this week. I wish Adam made a spray on to keep dust from coming back. He could make big money. Lol

You can use quick sealant on the rims after you give them a very thorough cleaning and clay them. It will make them much easier to clean the next few times. But you can't attack them with APC if you do that because the APC will eat the sealant. So what some of us do is use a mixture of the car shampoo and water in a spray bottle to clean the rims so you don't eat the sealant off. Then after a month or whatever you feel is a good time, give them another deep cleaning and seal them up again.

  7. I just did my car today with my foam cannon. I can't go without using it now. I do the rims and tires first with GWC and APC. Then I use the cannon with shampoo and ww. Let it dwell for a few mins then rinse with the pressure washer and clean water. Then use the cannon again and foam it up. Then use the two bucket wash and just hose it down with the fire nozzle. I use a merino for the top half and jumbo for the bottom. Blow the car off using a generic type if electric blower and then mist the car with DS. Dry it off with the GWDT.

  8. you should adjust the spray pattern wider, i can cover the side of my trialblazer with 3 side to side passes

    -Carl

I adjusted my pattern yesterday and played with some settings, along with adding a little ww to the mixture. Foam came out in a really nice, wide, thick pattern. I had more soap than I knew what to do with!

I was able to do my entire f250, including front grill and wheel wells on half a bottle of the mixture. Let it dwell for 5 mins then went with the pressure washer and water for my rinse. Applied another layer of foam using the rest of the mixture left in the bottle and went to washing with a one bucket wash. There was soap everywhere!!

  9. What kind of soap are you using? And how much are you adding ratio wise and setting on cannon?

I use my foam gun on second highest setting (highest drinks soap) and I can foam to my hearts content. It's actually quite efficient and I use less soap than conventional bucket wash.

How do you like the cannon compared to your gun?

Adams car shampoo of course! One pump from the gallon bottle with the pump attachment, into the cannon bottle filled 90% with water.

Cannon is entirely much better than the gun. Good thing about the gun is its a 2 minute setup and breakdown if you're short in time. But the thickness of the foam from the cannon is night and day better than the gun. I would say the cannon foam is like shaving cream thick and the gun is more like soapy water.

  10. And the residue rinsed clean for your driveway correct? We tested extensively to make sure it wouldn't stain concrete, but someone recently said it did so I'm wanting more feedback.

Dylan, I looked today and there was a little bit of brake dust residue. I didn't put much effort into rinsing it off so that's probably why it's still there. I didn't see any chemical staining or bleaching or anything like that. Once I get time to go out and try to remove the brake dust from the ground, I'll post the results. I have pavers btw and they were sealed about a year ago.
