Clear bra help. tons of 'scratches'
txranger22 replied to Bassmaster's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Good idea to start with the wiping! IMO, I don't think it's your fault and I don't think the recent snow had anything to do with it either. Those were probably already there from the previous owner, who, as Dylan said best, used a cinder block wrapped in chicken wire, to remove debris from his hood. Perhaps after the buttery wax was applied it simply filled the old damage and just took a few days to appear. Perhaps due to temperature/humidity factors. I would do my best to clean it out with the IPA BEFORE any heat. I would be afraid the heat, (if it is this type to self-heal) would trap the wax inside the film, still making it visible and impossible to remove. I'm not sure if you did it, but next time you may consider to clay the vehicle prior to sealant and/or wax. Anyway, don't lose confidence in your skills, the Hummer looked great when you finished. Just my 2 cents. Keep us posted. -
IPA Wipe down
txranger22 replied to txranger22's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Makes perfect sense, thanks guys. I've never actually done this, it's a hypothetical question. In fact, I haven't polished my car either.. Lol. I have read this and was wondering about the benefit of an additional IPA wipe down and how to do it with no swirly birds after polishing. -
Can you guys give me the best way to complete this step without causing swirls or damage to the freshly polished paint. I'm curious to how you do this because the Detail Spray and Waterless Wash have high lubricity properties to them and H2O with IPA wouldn't. What's the safeist way to do it? Thanks

Hey Matt, speaking of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, have you ever tried the Mexican place (R&R Taqueria) in Elkridge? It's inside a Shell gas station but was on DD&D. I tried it and thought it was fantastic!

I see some members have their birthdays listed on the calendar and under the mini statistics on their profile page. How do you enter this? I've searched but I can't find it. Has this option been removed?

Bottle holder from Adam's detailing cart
txranger22 replied to txranger22's topic in The Garage Sale Forum
The ones that come standard with the Detail Cart, we have those made specifically for us, from a different company, then insert them into each package prior to shipping. These puppies are high quality, and yes, out of stock currently, but they are on order! Mook Hey Mook, what are the odds of getting some of those new "high quality" holders to be made with slightly larger openings? I believe Dylan gave the dimensions of the 36oz bottle, 3.125" and the current opening is 3." I know the general consensus is, "hang them off the side," but I'm a bit of a neat freak and everything has it's place! ...and I agree about the quality, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Adams! -

I spoke with Matt a few minutes ago, they don't have any in stock; however, plan on having some and will be in touch. Thanks for the options and advice everyone.
