  1. My brother bought a Chevrolet Malibu. It's Black metallic with a dark brown and light brown interior. I know that does not sound like it would go together but it's absolutely beautiful and rich looking. I didn't have my camera with me and I'm out on the road again. I'm going to have my sister take some pictures and get them posted.

I was hoping to have someone go though 'all the pads' orange, white, black etc. and finish with some super machine wax. That would set him up for a year.

He does not have a PC or all the stuff, ( I live in another state and travel all the time) It would cost several hundred dollars to buy all that. One thing that needs to be understood is that that no matter how 'simple and easy' that using a PC and all that goes with it, there are people that do not want to.... or should not be allowed near a car with any kind of power tool, my brother is one of them.:pc:

He might be OK with doing his car by hand, but when I told him about using a clay-bar to start with he kind-of freaked out and said :help:.

    Thanks for the replies

  2. My brother just bought his first new car today and I'd like to know if there is anybody in the Lake Orion, Oxford, Michigan area that details cars. I'd like to have his car machine polished with Adams products.

I'm putting together an order of what I consider 'the basics' that he'll need to keep his new ride looking good.

First up on the list is the Adams Wash Trio (car wash, wash pad and towel) and a bucket w/grit guard.

    Detail spray

    Carpet & upholstery cleaner

    VRT w/free tire applicator

    Undercarriage spray

    Micro towel 2 pack

    Red applicator pads

    Leather & Interior cleaner

    What do you all think?

  3. I like it. Saw one last night at the dealers and got to see the interior up close. This was just an rs model with cloth seats, but the 21" wheels. I like the look of the exterior and the dash area, but the cloth seats are ugly. Would look better with two tone leather and a stripe package. But overall, I like the Camaro.

    The price was $28,000

Saw one yesterday at a Chevy dealership in Smithfield N.C. The dealership had invited a local car club to display their cars so that was my reason to stop in.They had one Camaro, sort of a base car, list price was also about $28,000 but the dealership had a 'market adjusted' price premium of $4995 so the price was $33,000!!!! This same dealership had a new unsold 2008 Corvette on display also. I guess they would rather keep their cars for show instead of selling them.

  4. Putnum was the first track I ever ran on at an all Lotus event. Was a blast. Great track to learn on. Only one real spot to total your car on the last turn before the main straight.

Yea I know what you're talking about. On my first time out I got off line and hit the dirt on that curve, I didn't panic, but man it it sent dirt and dust everywhere.

It's king of funny how I mentioned that Jason went over to 'the dark side' after tracking his Vette and the next thing you know he's not working for Adams anymore..............

    Later,

  5. Jason:

    Welcome to the 'dark' side!

I bought my ZO6 for the purpose of tracking, drag racing and all the 'other' stuff that might scratch, chip and 'harm' my car.

Like potato chips, bet you can't do one event.....:burnout:

That's me at Putnam Park last year.

Thanks for the reply and nice comment. I was not sure if anybody would be interested in that or not.

Our trucking job can be kind-of cool and can do a lot of interesting things and meet a lot of people, just like when we had a load that went to Boulder and meet up with you.

Right now we're at home,we got in last night. MaryBeth is leaving Wednesday to meet up with her sister and a friend in Paducah, KY, they are going to a big quilting convention there.

My two brothers and I are loading up our quads and going to Arkansas. A friend of mine has a place there. http://www.atvtrailhouse.com/

I did the photography for his website and we're able to stay there for free.

Is there some big car show going on in Carlisle? We're not going back to work until about the 28th.

Be careful out on the road.

  7. Just in case you can't tell from the picture on the left my wife and I drive truck for a living.

So we're on a load from California to Houston and we stop for the night at a truck stop in Ozona,Texas. Now if you're not from Texas, or maybe if you are you'll have to really look at your Rand McNally to find it. It's in between nowhere and lost on I 10 West of San Antonio.

So I get up in the morning and look out the windshield of our KW and there sits a bright yellow Ford GT and a Lightning Ford truck.

So I have to wander on over there there with my cup of fresh Java in my hand just to make sure it's not some sort of a mirage or one of those kit cars made up from a VW chassis.

A quick glance on my way by and sure enough it's a for real race motor staring back at me from the rear window of the GT. No mirage. So I wander in the garage just to see what's up. There sitting on a bar stool looking like like a character out of a Louis Lamour novel is a man who later introduced himself to me as Tom Mitchel.

We had a very nice , but too quick visit.

Don't know who Tom Mitchel is? Check this out. http://www.motorsport.com/news/article.asp?ID=52827&FS=NASCAR-TRUCK

Man sometimes I have just a too cool of a job!

  8. As the saying goes, 'no good deed goes unpunished'. Man it's too bad that them trying to provide a extra service and got screwed up.

I've got a lot of stainless on my truck and it's a challenge with all the chemicals that commercial truck washes use to keep it looking good.

Start with Adams Metal polish and then follow it with Brilliant Spray Glaze. I've found that BSG is great on stainless.

    Later,

  9. Jason, I cant tell you how sweet that car is! But, who is that leaning against it in jeans!! yikes!! Those little rivets suck.

Also, nice sig line...Snatch is a great movie. "It was a funny angle".

Put one of those signs that say 'Don't lean on the car unless you are nude'
