As far as the blurry photos I'll take an educated guess. The camera was using a slow shutter speed and the blur was from camera movement.

You are most likely using 'auto' mode? Just try to limit movement when taking the picture. Tuck your arms tight at your side, hold your breath and concentrate on not moving when you press the shutter.

Sorry I forgot about the claybar step.... I worked one weekend out in California on my semi truck, (see pictures in my album), I only got the cab and hood done doing claybar, orange pad w/SHR then orange pad w/FMP then white pad w/FMP then black pad w/MSW. I'm not looking foward to doing the sleeper there are some serious swirl marks there.

I'll forget about the wet sanding on the Vette and start with the claybar then the orange pad etc. and I'll be happy with the results, I'm sure.

I do have a question though.

My black Z06 was a rebuild wrecked car. I know it will never be a 'garage queen' and I don't want that anyway. Looking at the paint/clearcoat closely I can see that the car was not painted in the cleanest of conditions. There are imperfections, ie trash,dust etc. whatever in the clear. If I was to go back and wet sand the whole car can those imperfections be taken out? Without doing any 'damage'

The only thing I've done to the paint on this car, and I've had it nearly 2 years now, was last week I attending my first meeting of a newly formed Corvette club and I washed the car and wiped it down with some Detail Spray and then applied some BSG and wiped in down again. I could not believe the difference just doing that made. The guy I bought the car from even made a comment about it.

When I get the time I'll be doing the whole car, but right now I don't know if I should go as far as wet sanding or just start with the orange pad and SHR.

Thanks for the kind words Darren. I bought my first truck back in 1976, a 1973 Chevrolet Titan 90 which was a re badged GMC Astro. It was a cabover, single axle, no A/C or power steering. The motor was a 8V 71 (318) Detroit cut back to 290hp and a 10 speed Roadranger transmission. It would run 62 mph flat out against the governor and was so noisy inside you couldn't hardly talk to the person in the passenger seat.

My wife and I are really enjoying this 'RV semi truck'. It really has made life out on the road a lot more comfortable.

Good luck in the future if you decide to start driving truck for a living. It is getting a lot more difficult to make any money at it any more.

i think i read this in another thread but couldnt find it....im gettin ready to get sum APC to clean up my engine and since in and out is gone has anyone use the undercarriage spray on the engine?(hoses,plastics,etc.)

I read the same thing also. It was on a post that someone (won't name) posted on a one day sale on the undercarriage spray. That was the first I heard of that. I'm glad that Adam piped in and said no.......:explode:don't do that.

Those wheels should have been factory clear coated, in which case you treat them as painted surfaces, not as polished aluminum. Over the years the clear coat may have been polished and worn off though.

The best I remember, (I'm out on the road now) my wife's 95 'sawblades' are clearcoatd and I don't think you would want to put a 'metal' polish on them. Once the clear coat starts to discolor, fade, peel I don't know what to do with them.

I experienced the same thing with the undercarriage spray in the front wheel wells. They are very open on a c-4 with the hood up. I did not like the way the undercarriage spray looked. I have since started using VRT in that place.
