You might need a more aggressive approach, but a flex is a swirl eating beast on ANY car!
Thanks. If any one can see that we did anything wrong from what I've said please let me know before I mess something up.
On some spots we skipped the orange and went to the fine,,,, is this ok ?

Today a friend and I polished his wife's Acura. She had cleaned fly poo off the entire car with a scotch brite pad. Believe it or not. It was horrific. Huge scuff marks all over it. Started with severe,,then orange then fine. Checking as we progressed. Was moving flex approx 2 inches per second. Backed vehicle out twice in sun light because we weren't believing what we were seeing. I could not believe it took out all those swirls and scuff marks. I would say the car paint is approx 95% corrected or more. You have to look really hard in the sun to find the slightest imperfection. We took turns and the flex hardly ever stopped. It took us about 6 hours. The flex is unbelievable, I am very impressed !!!!!!
I hope I wasn't just lucky. I would love to be able duplicate this on my camaro !

In this thread it is this - Isopropyl alcohol.
In this thread - http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/lounge/14366.htm it is this!
Thanks

Air freshness have been mentioned multiple times recently.
We can keep hoping, but it's unlikely.
How about Adams Cologne, detail spray scented !!!!!!!! However I would prefer all purpose, lmao !!!!!
-
You can use it before it you like, it is your process. Adam's recommend doing a strip wash before you start polishing - add 2-3 oz of APC to your wash bucket. This will remove the old protection, but an IPA wipedown can help do the same thing.
I really hate saying this but here goes, what is IPA ?????? Go ahead and laugh !

Go to any gallon product on this page and it shows the option for the 5 gallon with price as well.
Thanks

Which products are offered and where to find prices ?

Yep! AQS or MSS really does help keep it to a minimum and makes cleaning much easier!

Quick sealant is sprayed on from the can, then you use the blue/red applicator pad to level it out. It's not going to keep all the dust off your rims, but it will make cleaning them easier. You should also invest in wheel woollies and/or a turbo stick to clean the rim area behind the face. Lots of dust accumulates there and it can eventually just build up and spread into the face.
Thanks, I have that stuff. Ricky is a friend of mine and we share lots of product. We have purchased hundreds of dollars of Adams product but do not have the sealant. So guess what, well have to order some. Lol
-
By the way this has nothing to do with apc, but I tried the great white towel and it is absolutely unequivably fantastic. So much faster !!!!!!
-
You can use quick sealant on the rims after you give them a very thorough cleaning and clay them. It will make them much easier to clean the next few times. But you can't attack them with APC if you do that because the APC will eat the sealant. So what some of us do is use a mixture of the car shampoo and water in a spray bottle to clean the rims so you don't eat the sealant off. Then after a month or whatever you feel is a good time, give them another deep cleaning and seal them up again.
Great I will try that,,,,, Thanks

It's called quick sealant
How do you apply it ? Does it really help the brake dust to not stick so much ? I can't drive my car 60 miles before they are full of brake dust.
-
Yes it is !
I have a Camaro and is horrible Don't know if its dust or metal. Will try dwc this week. I wish Adam made a spray on to keep dust from coming back. He could make big money. Lol

Is your comma button stuck?
Yes it is !

Didn't say it does nothing, but feel free to try and remove stubborn brake dust. While it will definitely help, its not going to do near what the DWC does as it does not react with the metallic particles.
There was a recent customer post about DWC that illustrated this. DWC took all the brake dust off the wheels, but one spot remained that it wouldn't touch. He hit it with APC and it took it right off. Turns out it was brake dust combined with oil or grease, likely from a service done to the steering/suspension.
Excuse me,,,,,,,, you said it does nothing specific to remove brake dust. I'm fine with the answer, believe me not trying to start anything just want to buy the cheapest product to do the best job,,,, lol. I will try some wheel cleaner next. Thanks,,,,,,,,,, I also think its best that you change that it will stop confusion ,,,,,,,,,,,Wayne

Ahh... You mean:
It's still a great product! Not sure if Dylan would want to tweak that or not going forward.
Yes,,,,,,,,,, that's what I'm asking about. ,,,, Adam says now it does nothing for brake dust,,,, maybe he means the rust particles. I've used as a wheel cleaned and seems to be great.
-
How old was that post?
DWC just came out and it IS the toughest for that job.
Go read it now. Pull up all purpose and read the write up underneath.
-
Apples and Oranges comparison.
All Purpose Cleaner is a degreaser, targets petroleum and oil based contamination and not safe for things like raw aluminum. It doesn't do anything specific to clean brake dust or metallic contamination.
Deep Wheel Cleaner is a new category of product that targets and disolves the metallics in brake dust specifically. It won't have any impact on oils, grease, tar, etc like APC will.
I thought I read where you said in the all purpose write up that it attacks the toughest brake dust
-
What are your thoughts ? Do we really need both ???? What does one do that the other won't ?
-
It really does work. Did a great job. Just threw away 3 chamois,,,,, will never use them again. I am one that does not get hung up in hype,,, if it is BS or trash I will be the first to say so. Have always believed the truth is always the shortest road anywhere. This thing is great !!!!!!!!!!! Expensive but what the hell !!!!

Brilliant glaze,,,,all purpose,,,, micro towels and flex,, flex,,flex,,flex,,flex. Flex. I love it,, really gets it done !!!!!!
-
Hey man if it looks good in the sun, then I think you're set!
Thanks. I guess there is no secrets i'll get me some sort of stool.

One handed is possible but without pressure I'd be surprised if you could do serious correction that way. The flex only has an 8 mm throw. The only da that i've heard of that can be used one handed and without pressure very effectively is the rupes because of it's massive 21 mm throw. And of course rotaries but that's a whole different ball game.
Basically I just question if you were really getting correction. Take the car out into sun and if you still see swirls, chances are you weren't correcting by using the flex one handed
I looked at it in the sun and it looks real good. I was able to put pressure intermittently but was afraid of me leaning so hard on that fender. I must have put enough pressure to do the correction. I can reach that spot with both hands putting a lot of pressure on the fender. I HAVE A BIG BELLY !!!!!!!!
