  1. I was bored today, and instead of going over my truck again I thought I'd do a 50/50 on my mom's hood and see how it came out. The car is still quite new to us, and has only very minor swirls, so i only used SHR/FMP for the hood, after I finished the right half of the hood I did a comparison, and found that I removed 95% of the light swirling that was there, I had my mother com inspect, and she couldn't tell the difference until after i pointed it out to her. So I just sealed the rest of the car, the swirls really are so light that it wasn't worth correcting the entire car. I did however get to try out Adam's Americana for the first time! I have to say it was a bit hard to tell how much product i was applying as the wax was fairly transparent, but I eventually got into a rhythm with it and WOW! The shine it produced was fantastic! Anyway, on to pics: forgive me, my cell phone photography skills are lacking.

The sun wasn't out today, was kind of overcast, so the reflection shots aren't as good as they could be. I'm really pleased with the Americana!:patriot:

  2. In short, around here, a 1 car garage can hold your prius and that's it, detailing is out of the question for the smaller, older rent houses

  3. I would only use the pressure washer and not the soap for reasons mentioned above. Honestly, just blast your car with pressure water alone and then move to the 2 bucket wash. No need to foam if you have that high of a pressure washer like the coin ops do.

    Great! Thanks for your input

  4. Using adams car shampoo filled into a bucket before you leave the house and then drizzle some on the actual wash mitt/pad and suds it up really well.

Coin-op soap is HORRIBLE LSP removing stuff... Less is more!!

I do that yes, i meant applying soap before letting a mitt hit the truck

  5. I have to take my truck to a real car wash to wash her for a number of reasons including hard water, low pressure, and a gravel driveway.

I was watching junkmans videos where he says a foam gun is the best tool for a 2 bucket wash.

I currently rinse off the truck, high pressure and get all the dirt off that I can. So my real question is, because I'm at a car wash and done have a garden hose, what is best to lube the paint?

    Carwash soap from the wand?

    Carwash presoak?

Or could I put a soapy mixture into a garden sprayer which works by pump action?

Then proceed with my 2 buckets wash

  6. Precisely! Thanks for answering that one camaro. I'm having xpel self healing film put on the entire front bumper, mirrors, door pulls, and rockers behind the wheels. It has a ten year warranty against cracking, peeling, yellowing, etc. And like I said, its self healing, so any scratch in it heals with sunlight or warm water to speed of up. Bug splats, tar, road grime, etc also wipe off a lot easier.

    How expensive is this stuff
