  1. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond. I used a 4" pad to apply the sealant to my truck. This made a huge difference. Using the 4" also allowed me to get into tighter areas, and very little needed to be applied by hand. Perhaps the 7" was bogging down more on the fiberglass - I didn't try it on the truck. Love the new Liquid Paint Sealant.
  2. I put down a coat of Liquid Paint Sealant on my RV the other day using a PC 7424 (not XP) and an Adam's 7" machine sealant and waxing pad. Without applying any pressure, I had a difficult time keeping the machine spinning. I ended up on speed 5, but this seemed to be too fast. Would I be better off using a 4" pad with this machine? I haven't tried it on my vehicles yet, so I don't know if there will be any difference.
  3. Yes, the boards are real chrome. It's just the chrome on the step portion that has this mess on them. The plastic on the step and the chrome face of them turned out perfect, as did the wheels. Will have to try MP 1 & 2. Any precautions or suggestions on applying this while working around the plastic?
  4. I went to clean my running boards today to remove the buildup of salt and other winter road stuff and this is how they turned out. I used green wheel cleaner (which I have always used) and a soft bristle brush. I also tried a test spot with all purpose cleaner and it did no better. This staining is only on the step part of the board. The face of it turned out great, as did my chrome wheels. Any suggestions?
  5. Looks like everything is now priced in U.S. dollars. It was bound to happen. The Canadian dollar is now around 90 cents. Hope it doesn't go any lower. It gets worse too if paying by credit card. You not only lose 10 cents on the dollar, but credit card companies charge crazy fees to convert. Oh well, guess us Canadians will have to be a bit more selective when making a purchase, although those of us who are already addicted will probably continue to buy, buy, buy.
  6. That's a nice looking truck....
  7. I have found the same thing. I'm not quite ready to retire it yet, but I find myself more often going back to the car wash pad.
  8. Is there any benefit to using Brilliant Glaze on glass treated with sealant?
  9. On my 30' 5th wheel I was able to wash and apply a single coat of Quick Sealant in 1 day. Although it was a lot of work, the end result was well worth the effort; bugs and black streaks were easily washed off after a long trip. I used a full can of sealant. Not sure if that is the right amount, but it worked for me. I did 2 coats on the front and one on the rest. Everything I have read on this forum, Quick Sealant is the way to go. I enjoyed a few beers afterwards while admiring my work.
  10. Here is a pic of what I am dealing with. The surface still feels rough, too.
  11. Thanks, everyone. I will get some pics.
  12. I took a go at restoring the headlights on my '02 300. These things were pretty trashed. Following are the steps I took: Washed and clayed, then numerous passes with the paint correcting polish and 4" orange pad, followed up with a couple of passes of paint finishing polish and 4" white pad. I was using a pretty decent Makita cordless that can achieve the recommended 1500 rpm's. Although greatly improved, they still have a long way to go. Is there a more aggressive step I can take before redoing the polish?
  13. I hit mine this year with the Quick Sealant. Two coats on the front and one coat on the rest. Took 2 days to do it, and it darn near killed me, but what a difference.
  14. Looks great, Ryan. If you didn't see the earlier post by chase@adams, he has named his kodiak brown f150, "rootbeer". Very appropriate, I think. I love the color. Depending on the lighting, you can get into some great debates - that's black/no it's brown.
  15. Thank you for the responses, everyone. I was hoping I could use this machine. Can't justify pulling the trigger on something else until I give this a go.
  16. I have the older version 7424 still kicking around (not the newer XP). It is still in perfect working condition. My questions are, are all the products and accessories - polish, pads, backing plate - compatible with the older version? Is the technique essentially the same? I assume it will be slower going. I may eventually upgrade to something newer, but I would like to try this out first.
  17. I also own a Chrysler 300. Decisions, decisions Back seat leg room was also one of my considerations. This thing is like a limo back there.
  18. I didn't think of just using sealant. Not only does it eliminate a step, I happen to have 2 cans of AQS. Can it be applied multiple times, like before every time I head out on a trip? These things are crazy with the bug splatter.
  19. Just getting ready to haul mine out of storage to get it ready and cleaned up for the season. Which Adam's products can safely be used on things like the rubber roof, and vinyl awning? Windows are obvious. I am thinking the fiberglass body can be treated like a car with a sealant and wax application. For something like this, I would think buttery would be the way to go. Any thoughts or suggestions. The stuff works so well on my car and truck, I hope most of it can also be used in this application.
  20. I agree, Christopher. This Ford is what caught my eye. Could have just as easily been a GM or a Dodge. Great comments everyone. Just trying to have a bit of fun with this. Bottom line is we all like to keep our vehicles looking great, using these great Adam's products. Nice truck Derek.
  21. Welcome, Andy. I became hooked a couple of months ago and love the product and service provided by ADAMS.CA.
  22. Seems like mostly Chevys with a few Rams thrown in?????
  23. Great looking truck, Chase. Hope you don't mind if I borrow the name. Whenever someone looks at mine the debate takes place - it's black, no it's brown. Depends on how the sun is hitting it. Now I can say it's root beer.
  24. Although I don't have a show vehicle, I figure I should make the box look good if I am spending all this time on the rest of the truck. Thanks Bruce and Jason for the VRT milk suggestion. I will be giving this a try during the next wash.
