  1. We are flooded in Texas right now and my H2O G&G came in today so as soon as it dries I will be using it! After washing while truck is wet you spray it on correct? And can you use the great white drying towel?

I would use a single soft or a double soft to spread the product and then you can follow up with a great white towel to cleanup the residue, but I would suggest a second single or double soft.

My personal preference is using the "wet" application method.

G&G is used for a booster every few weeks. DS is for the rest of the time.

  2. Thanks guys. I was just looking for experiences with other Adams products on the grainy trim. I think part of my problem is that I should give the trim a good cleaning & then re apply. Normal the trim gets a once over with the mitt then I re apply SVRT.

Try hitting the trim with APC and a stiff brush like the pad cleaning brush, then apply SVRT.

  3. THIS JUST IN:  Rupes-Cyclo has agreed to giveaway a polisher of choice, to the winner of a drawing to be held at noon at the clinic.   To be drawn by the lovely Kourtney, business cards dropped in the jar....

Rupes 21?  Cyclo Model 5?  Rupes 15?  What's on your list?  Adam's will donate the pads and polishes to the winner, for a full package!

Thank you Cody, and thanks to everyone at Rupes-Cyclo for this incredible giveaway!!

    I could use a Rupes 15 ;)

  4. I have also upgraded all my spray bottles to the premium dilution bottles listed above, and have not had a issue in the couple months since the upgrade.  Only time will tell how these new bottles hold up.

In the last year or so I have only been able to kill one Tolco sprayer (same as the reds) and it wasn't anything from Adam's that killed it.

  5. Adams has said in the past they are not interested in selling clay alternatives for the potential of marring that comes with some clay alternatives.  They are readily sold elsewhere, if you like them, use them, but Adam's last I heard only is going to keep clay in with their decon regimen.

IMO with the customer base that Adam's has it would cause more customer service issues than help pro/prosumer level detailers that are few and far between here. The ones that are at that level use more than just Adam's products as well.

Has there been any interest in making a clay bar towel.

There are other companies make them. Or are you just looking for something with Adam's backing?

  6. Ha ha! Funny guy :-)

6 months if you don't do it right, or if you want to change it. Did the wheels on my GXP 2 years ago and they still look great. Nice thing about dip is its easy to redo. Screw up paint, and it's a whole nother story! And with dip you can change whenever you want. Dipping takes talent too, btw.

I've shot some for friends before. I am aware of what it takes to lay down. It is pretty damn easy and forgiving compared to real paint. IMO no talent needed, especially with a good HVLP gun.

Again I'd rather have real paint. it is easier to keep clean, looks better and isn't ruining the car scene.

Plastidip, bags, and wheels are not builds. Contrary to what palstidip kids think

Sorry you are misinformed, maybe do some research. While the examples above aren't my style, lately they've had some cool stuff coming out. Their newest product that hasn't been released yet can be compounded and polished and treated as car paint - while still being completely removable. It is glossy. Saying it peels in 6 months or less is also blatantly false, don't know where you got that info from. It is intended to be removable, that is what's great about it, it's not a cheaper alternative to paint unless you want it to be. If it was just a "cheaper alternative" people wouldn't be doing their super cars with it. I used it to black out my emblems (gloss black) and you couldn't tell it wasn't paint - and when I want to sell the car I can peel it off and give it back to the owner in stock form. I'll attach some pictures of more normal looking plasti dip jobs.

Not misinformed at all. I've done plenty of research on it and shot plastidip for a friend before. I've seen the stuff that can be done and it reminds me of chameleon paints from the 90's. FFS I am in the VW/Audi scene. I am more than aware of what can be done with plastidip. I probably saw 100+ dipped cars 2 weekends ago at H2Oi.
