To wash with dish soap or not...

jbizzle

Question

So I'm just trying to be prepared when I'm actually ready to start detailing the exterior of my car. I am getting mixed feedback if I should wash with dish soap or not. Not sure what actual prep work is needed before using Adam's Premium Hand Polish & Car Wax Kit.

Thanks

IMO you're better off using 50/50 isopropyl alcohol to water and a MF towel to remove it.

:iagree:I have come to prefer this method. By using the IPA wipe down I can control what is getting stripped. With the Dawn wash everything gets hit.... meaning all the plastic and rubber. Dawn will dry those things out over time.

Last year I did the dawn wash in the spring. This year I realized that I spent all winter using coin-op spray washes and used the soap. I saw no reason to dawn wash it. I clayed it and moved on to the correction. I had ZERO issues.
