Worn out clear coat

My '95 Tacoma still has a good shine left, but a local detailer tells me that the clear coat is just about gone. I want to experiment with the S&H remover, machine polish and wax but I don't want to cut into the paint too much. Suggestions?:uk: The G8 gets done after!

 

Got my box of stuff from Adam's on Saturday. Hope the weather cooperates! Guess I missed out out on the interior cleaner promo. Next time!

Just curious, did he measure it with a paint thickness gauge ? I detailed a Tacoma and the paint overall appeared to be real thin to the naked eye.

Nope. Just eyeballed it. Sold me some glaze and a paint sealer. Tried my new G110 on it and it came out pretty good. Need to learn to slow down though!
