Don't live in Minnesota :jester:

 

I would say if you can keep your good car though away from the salt you would be much better off. I'm sure there is a coating you might be able to put on the underside of your car but I don't think I would put anything but wax on the paint.

I'm originally from Minnesota too, stationed in VA now. I know when I lived at home my cousin had a drain in his heated garage so i'd go over there once or twice a week (depending on how dirty the truck got) and spend a GOOD amount of time washing the undercarriage out as well as the rest of the truck. Minnesota salt is miserable.

Buy an aluminum Audi A8 and live in the South.

 

:thumbsup: My 2001 Audi A4 wasn't aluminum, but it was made from fully galvanized steel. After 10 years living in the mid-atlantic (where we do get some snow), outdoors every night, and 100,000 miles, that fine machine didn't have a spec of rust on it anywhere. Great car.
