txredgt
Don't live in Minnesota I would say if you can keep your good car though away from the salt you would be much better off. I'm sure there is a coating you might be able to put on the underside of your car but I don't think I would put anything but wax on the paint. GtiGuy
I'm originally from Minnesota too, stationed in VA now. I know when I lived at home my cousin had a drain in his heated garage so i'd go over there once or twice a week (depending on how dirty the truck got) and spend a GOOD amount of time washing the undercarriage out as well as the rest of the truck. Minnesota salt is miserable.
DieselDude
Best way to prevent rust is keep all exposed areas covered with paint and keep it clean.
Chris@Adams
Best way to prevent rust is keep all exposed areas covered with paint and keep it clean. Keep the salt washed off, and I don't see how a heated garage could cause rust.

Marylander
Buy an aluminum Audi A8 and live in the South. My 2001 Audi A4 wasn't aluminum, but it was made from fully galvanized steel. After 10 years living in the mid-atlantic (where we do get some snow), outdoors every night, and 100,000 miles, that fine machine didn't have a spec of rust on it anywhere. Great car.
