Porter Cable 7335 vs. 7424XP

What's the difference between the PC 7335 and 7424XP? A guy I work with has an older 7335 PC with the M label on it that I could use, although ultimately I'd like to get my own. I know Adams seems to sell the 7424XP only, but I might be able to get started quicker if I use his for a bit. Thanks all!

The 7335 is equivalent to the old 7424 (not xp) only difference being it was packaged as a sander, not a polisher. The tool itself is identical.

 

As far as the difference between the 7424 and 7424xp - the XP is a tad more powerful and more ergonomically designed as far as where the speed control is.

I think that the XP has a longer cord too.

I have one of the originals and it works just fine! No worries as long as you have the correct back plate and pads.

I have the sander version and it works very well with all sizes of pads.
