rcode99
I have this model but your detail kit specifies either your polisher or a porter cable 7336. Won't your pads and backing plate work on the 7335? Mine is like new so I hate to spend another $200 just to use your pads.
Chris@Adams
I think that the 7535 was sold as a sander, but it will work with Adam's backing plate & pads!
Z71_Denali
it should work. it has a 5 lb counterweight like the 7424xp does. all that would matter now is if the threads are the same. if you can dig that up and compare it to the 7424, then you just saved yourself some money! Z71_Denali
here's a better comparision, looks like you might be okay Porter-Cable 7424 Facts, FYI
rcode99
Mine has the 5 inch backing plate. Does that mean I can't use Adams 6 inch pads. The 7335 is made to use the Meguiars 6 inch pads. My polisher doesn't come with seperate counterweights for a six inch pad.
rcode99
I just checked and neither Porter Cable nor aftermarket sources offer counterweights for a six inch backing plate. Now what. Will the Adams six inch pads work or do I just use the Meguiar's pads? BTW thanks for the help folks. Update...I just emailed coastal tool to see if they make/sell the counterweights. Are they needed because the Adams pads are that heavy?
joeobx
Bob, read thru the sticky about the selection of counter weights, I think you can order them from Adams.
chrisguga
No need for a different counterweight. I have the sander version of the PC and it works great with 4", 5", or 6" pads. You just need the appropriate backing plate.
02Xtreme07ss
6" counterweight is extremely easy to come by. Just google 'porter cable 6" counterweight' and you will see plenty.
