Powder Coat Recon

Quick question...I have powder coated side steps on my Tundra, they are aftermarket, and powder coated gloss black. They are scratched up pretty good under the drivers side door, for obvious reason. Do you think I can use Adam's system to recondition these steps? If so, would it be the same process for removing scratches as the normal paint recon?

I have never worked with Powder Coating, but I don't see why you couldn't do the same steps that you would on your paint. When done report back with some pics to let us know how they came out.

I don't think you'll have much luck with polishing powder coat. It's very hard, doesn't have clear coat on it like paint does, and the clear coat is what you're actually polishing.

That's why I asked...this is what I was afraid of...I thought I might be able to get away with it because it has a gloss finish

I believe my powder coated brake calipers got clear coated afterwards. Ask the company you got it from to see
