When i said different correction steps, i meant what are the different forms of correction.

As far as I know is Compounding And polishing.

I went on another forum and stumbled upon this...

Correction Process:

-M105 via rotary and Solo wool pad

-M105 via DA and Meguiar's MF cutting pads (finished down very well)

-106fa via DA and tangerine LC Hydro pads

Coating Process:

-Foam bath with OPC and CGCW to remove all polishing oils

-IPA wipe-down

-Opti-Coat(Guard) applied with supplied yellow foam applicator to all paint, wheels, trim, and lights. (8cc used)

Im still a beginner so i just want to expand my knowledge with evrything!

;)I'll take a stab at this.

Each situation is going to be different however, they will requirer some for of polishing, waxing and such.

The polishing stage (after you have two bucket washed and bag tested surface) will require anynumber of prep solutions. You may need SSHR or SHR or just FMP.

Waxes well depends what your after. Shine, protection, quick job and so on.

Actully do a search on the topic as I believe others have put a much better spin on the subject.

Good luck. :2thumbs:

The general steps are ...

1) 2 Bucket Strip Wash using a mixture of All Purpose Cleaner and Car Shampoo

2) Clay

3) Depending on the condition of the paint:

a) Severe Swirl and Haze Remover with a DA (PC 7424XP or Flex 3401)

B) Swirl and Haze Remover with a DA

c) Fine Machine Polish with a DA

4) Clean paint to remove any oils with IPA or Revive Polish

5) Protect (can skip any of these but the sealant needs to be done before anything else is put on the clean paint)

a) Machine Super Sealant

B) Brilliant Glaze

c) Americana

These are the basic steps you will see in any of the videos

Whats IPA?

Steps 3 a and b is considered compounding right? and c is polishing??

what is step 5 considered under? wax?

IPA = Isopropal Alcohol

Step 3 a,b are like compounds but are not I believe much more mild.

Step 5 is a polymer sealant not a wax

Not sure what IPA does =S

So in essence its between compounding and polishing, not quite either.

If thats the case, does adams offer a compound?

Americana is a wax right, after cleaning off the paint i should wait 24 hrs before applying the americana or is this wrong?

But the super sealant can be applied right away?

ISP cleans the surface of oils and waxes as does the claying process.

Adams compound no, not needed unless paint is extremely oxiodized.

Americana is a preium carnuba wax.

Can be applied after surface is cleaned. Only the sealant need cure time of 12-24 hours.

Watch the videos they will help you with alot of your questions.
