BlownG8GT
I have not been around in a while, been buried at work!!! (thank god) Anyhow, I finished up the G8 this weekend with the wheels, tires and suspension. Just some minor details to touch up and she is done. Excuse the pics, it was pitch black outside when I took this one. I will have some better photos later.
Rich
That really looks great. I almost got a white G8 just like yours, but just couldn't bring myself to buy a rear wheel drive in snow country. I've had them in the past and know how crappy they can be. But I sure liked that car. Those wheels look perfect on that car. Great job! Put up some daytime pics too. eleven357
Nice looking G8. Very clean and shiny! There is this dude around town that wants to race my M5 with his G8, but I usually pay him no mind. Let me know if you ever pass through Bakersfield, We can run 'em. What is the power to weight ratio of your car? With the M5, it's 1 HP to every 8 lbs. Just curious.

eleven357
are you using a RWHP or BHP for your calculation? Use BHP for this one. I am aware HP is lost through the drivetrain.

Krzdimond
3995 / 566= 7:1 power to weight ratio (7.06 lb to 1 HP)
BlownG8GT
3995 / 566= 7:1 power to weight ratio (7.06 lb to 1 HP) Looks like it would be a good race
eleven357
Well the motor made 566 on the engine dyno and weighs around 3995. Why do I have to do the math? LOL. So then you have 1 HP to every 7.06 lbs. That's impressive. (looks for some twin turbochargers)

eleven357
Yeah but I am sure it won't go 200 MPH with the stock gears. Yeah I would lose in the 1/4, but not in the top end. He would run out of gears before me. Oh well. It's all good. I am just glad mine is paid off. Edited January 18, 2009 by eleven357
Krzdimond
agreed. You are faster on top end and will change directions and stop better. eleven357

BlownG8GT
No ****? Wow you have long gears too? At 125 mph I am shifting from 4th to 5th with 2 gears left. 2.92 I think.....now that I think about it, it might have been closer to 5500 @ 175, honestly I was not paying that much attention to the dash.
