What a mess with this Civic

MrHot88

Question

I'll be working on this car, pretty much all weekend.

As I said on the video, I have a good chance at correcting the paint using Adam's products.

I'll post another video after its complete and pics.

Stay tuned:)

Wish me luck,

Kevin

OK, clayed twice, followed all of my steps and nothing.

Come to find out the clear was shot, well the top coat of it.

So I took some 1500, 2000 and then 3000 at did a good wet sand.

Then I used all of my Adams products.

This is the right fender

So this will be an all weekend, day and night to get it like picture two.

Lucky its a small car.

Adams made the finish so WOW.

This car was way past a normal correction.

More pics to come.

Yes it is but you know it's nice to run into something like this from time to time.

Really makes you feel good about yourself and the products that we use.

The SSHR really removes the fine scratches left behind from sanding.

The FMP really made it shine, then the glaze. OMG. Made it pop.

I'll wet sand and polish as I go so I don't get tired doing the same step over and over.

I'm having to wash after I sand of course.

More pics to come

I agree, this guy hasn't event washed it in over two months and before that about a year.

Goes to show you how bed the finish can get if not taking care of.

Wow, I don't understand how someone can let their car get to that point. Maybe it's just me idk. I have to wash my car 1 a week at least.

idk, personally I think you're attacking this the wrong way.

If the finish is sandy and making that noise as you move your hand across, you need to clay and clay some more and finish off with more claying.

Then polish. It sounds (to me at least) that you didn't clay long enough or enough times.

Wetsanding is an extremely aggressive approach especially as your first step... imo only needed for RIDS or to remove orange peel.

I would have afpgree with on most cars but this isn't a normal car you would run into.

I clayed, twice and yes I spent a lot of time doing so and IT MADE NO DIFFERNCE,NONE.

It was either wet sand the car are send it back to the guy because there isn't enough clay in Adam's where to get results.

Also, while I was wet sanding I found deep scratches all over the car so I'm removing those as well.

When I found out that it needed more attention I called the guy buy, took pics and sent it to him, he was like wow, do whatever.

This job wasn't about making money , he's a friend of mine and a coworker but he'll pay me 500.00 to make it look new again.

It's not only for orange peel, I use the sanding method to remove scratches, cad clear, etc but I don't recommend anyone trying this, I've been doing this for years, you cold really screw a paint finish up.

The SSHR is working greT behind the wet sanding, really impressed:)

Finally done with the Civic, it took me all weekend, day and into the night to finish it, I wish I had more time to spend on it, you know, go over it again. Lol

But all in all I'm happy with the results.

I tell you I can't say enough times how impressed I am with Adam's products.

Like I said I had to wet sand the entire car and his products remove almost, if not all of the fine scratches left behind from the 3000 grit which was my final paper.

Thanks

Yes do practice on an old car to learn, it takes time to fully learn how to do it but once you learn it can be very helpful to you at times, like a deep scratch.

If not for wet sanding this car would still looked trashed after a full correction, that's how bad it was.

Once sanded Adam's came through for me in a big way, very impressed with every I bought with him.

I tell anyone who will listen to me about Adam's, in fact I just picked up two customers this weekend, people stopped over to see what I was doing and asked where to buy them.

I should just sell them to people. Lol

His products sell for themselves.

Wow! Awesome job! :2thumbs:

I want to learn wet sanding, need to get some practice on some old junkyard pieces first.
